We bought the tactrix adapter, then downloaded techstream following the info here:

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/ecu-tsb-update.562550/

we got it connected no problem to bleed the brakes. We went to the ABS module and then found out that air bleeding utility is not available for our truck:

    upload_2022-7-19_8-12-44.jpg

    upload_2022-7-19_8-13-19.jpg

So we tried to use the manual control of the ABS solenoids to get air out up to the module.
    upload_2022-7-19_8-17-23.jpg
with this test function, the solenoids will only stay open for 2 seconds. so we would open the bleeder, then cycle the valve, then slowly push the pedal down over the 2 seconds. we did this several times, then just did regular bleeding (pump, hold, crack the bleeder). pedal seems pretty firm, but we still need to try driving it and we are assuming that we may need to redo.

We found this decoder on a 4runner site, and actuated the solenoids while holding pressure and releasing the bleeder. Pedal seems better now, but still a little soft, but thinking that could be the 4runner brake upgrade.

The real question is, "Is Dad going to let you have and drive it after all that hard work you two put into it?" Gonna pretty much have a "brand new" show truck after you both are through with it. Looking great!

We made this tool to get camber in the ballpark and you can also turn it sideways and use a tape measure to check and adjust toe.
    upload_2022-8-3_8-14-40.jpg

We also set up strings from the rear wheels to get the steering wheel straight:
    upload_2022-8-3_8-16-16.jpg

you can also see our home made "turn plates", these make it easier to adjust things because the tires can turn easily on them when adjusting. these are 2 linoleum tiles with grease inbetween

Careful using those winch cables if you decide to go that route. Stand clear and keep the hood propped open to protect the windshield. :redxfall:

Tires on and we went for a ride around the neighborhood, no issues except the parking brakes need to be adjusted and the brakes are still a little soft:
