No big adventures yet, just been driving it to school and work.

On the mini bike, we had to shift the motor mount over a little to get the sprockets to line up:

    Yeah.
Using a box of bacon to mock up a mini bike chain guard. Nice!

Hey! I’m wondering how did you manage to disassemble the cabin? I’m going to do the same job on my truck, but I simply cannot find where to start…

remove hood, front end, fenders, carefully disconnect every wire and line (fuel/brake) that is connecting it to the frame, we disconnected the engine harness from the computer in the cab and left the harness with the engine.

Then it is just 6 body mount bolts... but overall, this is NOT an easy job...

I just need some courage to finally attempt to do it… probably recording/taking pictures of everything i disassemble would help

What size motor in the mini bike? Looks like one from harbor freight. Wasn't expecting it to match the Tacoma, but it turned out nice.

We made it to Toyota Fest in Greenfield MA yesterday. Pretty good turn out, 2-300 cars, if anyone is interested for next year. They grouped vehicles by type which was interesting.

We are doing a stereo upgrade. We have a bluetooth receiver thing that goes in through the factor stereo antenna, but the sound isn't great... A bit of a mix of brands, but we were buying deals on black friday.

    This head unit:

    These for the front doors:

    These for the rear doors:

    And this sub and AMP:

We are going to try fitting the sub under the passngers seat (with seat risers and the bar flipped). Sealed enclosure, made from free (from my dad's work) 1/8" stainless steel (non-magnetic) to get the most internal volume possible.

    Here is the box:
    upload_2025-1-10_12-17-43.png

After hitting it with a scotch bright disc:
    upload_2025-1-10_12-19-4.png

Plan is to line it with sounds deadener and add poly fil. Box is 16x3x11, putting the internal volume around .29 cubic feet. the sub minnimum recommended is .2 cubic feet for sealed.

    Yeah.
I've never seen someone do a metal sub box, that is pretty cool. I once drew one up that fit behind the driver-side rear seat and had a friend that did woodworking build it out of MDF. It had to be a funky shape and fill the space to meet the specs for the sub.

We lined the box with sound deadener material:
    upload_2025-1-23_7-46-59.png

Sounds deadening material is this stuff from Amazon:
    upload_2025-1-23_7-49-47.png

    Then added polyfil:
    upload_2025-1-23_7-50-23.png

    and added the sub:
    upload_2025-1-23_7-51-3.png

The box is 3" tall, and the sub sticks out another .75", hopefully it fits under OK
