They get the German torque spec.

    Guten-tight.

ECGS told me to run 85-140 conventional lucas to be able to keep my warranty. They absolutely do not recommend any kind of synthetic gear oil in toyotas

Thank you so much for all your help.

Yes, i'm very much exited to drive my old girl again. Its been almost two months that she's been injured. But never left me stranded. Almost $2000 later, i'm excited to be moving on to more worry free motoring. I just want to do a few small things this year maintenance wise and maybe a new headunit with back up cam. We'll see

If you get a chance ask ECGS about doubling up on the friction Additive.

Synthetic is not good for heavy duty gears. Its too thin.

    Thats what they said.

When I asked, they just said that in their research this is what works best and synthetics were more prone to failures

Their instructions say it is okay to add some.

I wanted to since we cleaned out the entire housing and did a full overhaul

    Here is the run down:

    Truck is 100% back together.

Jacked it up, removed the wheels and pulled the drums, drained the gear oil.

Then took out all the brake line bolts and ebrake cable bolts. Disconnected the brake lines from the back of the drums and capped them. Then pulled the axle shafts, then the third.

Used 6 cans of brake clean to scrub the housing and axle shafts. Greased and replaced the axle seals with new OEM, cleaned the o-rings, put RTV on the housing, then put the new OEM gasket on, then put RTV on top of the gasket. Installed the axle shafts, then the third. Hooked all the brake lines back up (arguably the worst part), put all the bolts back in. Bled the brakes, repainted my drums, anti siezed my hubs and bolted the wheels back up. She's all done.

Yuh. Just drove for 20 minutes. Sat for 20 minutes. Now driving some more.

All feels normal. All I can hear is tire hum. So we're good so far.
