    As i've never done one before. I'm not sure what all is involved. If fluid levels will need to increase, where the inlet and outlet will need to go, where to run the lines....etc

    Seems there is no write up or instructions anywhere

    It is actually a pretty simple upgrade. Just need to find a cooler and bracketry of your liking/budget.

    Mount it somewhere in the front near the bumper.

    Get one which has fittings the same size as your lines which attach to the radiator.

    Fill the cooler full with the ATF. (This will help keep your trans fluid at the necessary level.)

    Remove lines from radiator and attach to cooler inlet and outlet. You might need longer lines.

    Start and check for leaks.

    The beauty of having an aftermarket trans cooler, is that you can get whichever size you want. That added capacity will also help keep it cooler.

    But its my understanding that the coolant lines from the radiator send engine coolant to the trans to help speed up fluid heating so that the temperature of the trans fluid is not cold when putting strain on the drivetrain. Correct?

    And living in a climate where it can get to -20 in the winter, i wouldn't want to eliminate that.... correct?

    The trans lines are on the side of the radiator. The ATF gets warmed by that heat transfer.

    You could route the outlet from the radiator into the cooler, then back out to the trans. Or visa versa. Then you'd get the best of both worlds.

    So its trans fluid that goes into the radiator? Not coolant that goes to the trans?

    I don't know of any coolant which goes to the trans.

    No worries, i may have missinterpreted how someone was explaining it

    So trans fluid runs through the radiator? Why would it not be cooled more efficiently then?

    Small core. Just the end cap. Heats it up quicker than without. Can't cool it down as well in hot climates.

    That cooled my trans down in a hurry.

    Was running 200-205 until we started doing river crossings and mud holes. Then it lowered to 170-180
