I’ll be considering another shepard when Simba’s time is up. He just turned 8 this year and he’s getting old. His brother Ruger (my older brother’s dog) is 13 or 14 and headed down hill, not sure if he’ll make it through the winter. May give my brother Simba while i finish school and then get another Shepard when i get a job

Didn't know you had a shepherd. He's my first, he's definitely a handful! And 3 months old today actually! The training and puppy stages are crazy hard and chewing and biting are driving me crazy! Lol but I love him and I know it's only a phase.

Truck looks good by the way! I never have time for truck stuff or money for it with puppy and house stuff but hopefully someday I'll get back to it....

 

Yeah i’m kind of glad i got this dog as an Adult. Puppies are a handful!

A dear family friend died and had two shepards. My brother and I each have one.

His dog is normal and wants to murder anyone it doesnnt know, like a typical shepard....mine has horrible anxiety and only barks at people on the porch. When they come in he is all happy and whimpy again lol

Yeah, I got to go on a real road trip a couple months ago. So fun!!

 

Im trying to socialize mine so he won't be a psycho , I kinda want a mix between yours and your brothers dog lol. Protect the home but love people and animals. We'll see how he does...

Its a struggle, don’t be afraid to seek obediance or other professional training either. These dogs are extremely smart and react very well to the training. Just have to put in the work.

Well, his dog loves the people he knows lol. Anyone else gets the bark.

Simba just wants to not be left alone. He and my parents cat get along famously lol.

 

Yep I've considered that and still may do it. I've been training him myself everyday when I can. Already taught him to sit, lay down, come, speak, shake, working on heel, leash trained, potty trained, lol. Only had him a month. He's extremely smart!

 

Naaaa, he sounds perfectly socialized. Those aggressive dogs are lonely. They need Love! I have Love for all dogs. I wish we could have some.

Oh yeah and taught him to ring the cowbell when he needs to potty, my favorite trick so far lol

All dogs have the protect instinct. Even the little ankle biters will flip out giving the right circumstances. If they are part of your pack nothing can change that. So having them socialized just makes them a more rounded animal and that is generally healthier, and better fro the well being.
