Yeah, so far so good. Just got them last week. Hopefully they're still good and hold up a long time...

    Apparently you did Brother!

    Phoenix - aka Our Furbaby
13.5 month old, 47 lb, American Pit Bull Terrier Mix
Grew up chained outside in WVa her entire life
Surrendered and then shipped to Grass Roots Rescue in Delaware
Her foster Mom had her 3 weeks
We adopted her on the 1st of the year
Crate trained, house broken, spayed, microchipped, rabies & lyme disease vaccine, heartworm negative.

Deb and I picking her up in Delaware on the 1st. She looks smaller in this photo. (next to my fat ass)

    upload_2021-1-18_13-44-19.jpg

    At her foster moms.

    upload_2021-1-18_13-45-49.jpg

At our house. I put a post surgical shirt on her because was licking her surgery site too much and making it red.

    upload_2021-1-18_13-42-46.jpg

Her absolute favorite thing is belly rubs. She falls asleep and snores and if I stop she wakes up and reminds me I am not doing my job. LOL

    upload_2021-1-18_14-2-26.jpg

We walk 3 times a day, for approximately 7 - 8 miles a day. Rain or shine. She's not bothered by the rain, or gunshots (our surrounding neighbors shoot). She's obviously part hound or drug dog because she sniffs out every single critter along the way.

    upload_2021-1-18_13-43-22.jpg

Her second ride in the Tacoma. We went to the dump. She was good. She has seatbelt leashes (2) attached to a harness and a regular leash on attached to er collar.

    upload_2021-1-18_13-47-21.jpg

We set her up with a perch so she can look out the front window. We were going to move the coffee table downstairs and then I can up with idea. She likes it a lot. And with the coffee table out of the middle of the floor we have more room to play.

    upload_2021-1-18_13-53-42.jpg

Deb and I have wanted a dog since we got together in 83' and decided that working from home would give us the perfect opportunity to get a dog acclimated to our lifestyle. So far we had one accident where I went out, she got upset, and then when I got home I waited too long to take her out and she pee'd on the carpet. We got it up immediately and then I bought some neutralizing spray. She sniffed it but that's all. Yesterday we bathed her and for the most part it went ok. Then I took her out on the deck to dry her off better and because she was wet she slipped out of my hands before I could get her leash on. She led us on a chase around the woods for about a half an hour. All uphill, and me in a wet t-shirt and no shoes, just socks. I was freaking out. I ran right out and got a 40' tie-out rated for a 200 lb dog. It's attached to the railing post of my deck. We use a Martingale collar but I will use her full harness when she's on it. I also plan on installing a overhead cable between two trees in my back yard with a pulley. Then she can run over 150' back and forth and 40' side to side. I need about 200' of cable so I can put stops in 40' before each end. That should keep her from getting tangled up in anything but still allow her to go up the hill to the edge of the woods to look for the deer. A fence would be too costly so it would be too confined of a space. With a trolley I can actually throw a ball for her. I'm also going to build an agility training area in another area of my property. I'll just use a 50' leash for that. Then I will clear a nice walking trail up in the woods behind my house so when we walk she can exercise more. Right now all our walking is on pretty much a small incline/decline. Up in the woods is stair stepper shit.

We are spoiling the hell out of her right now though trying to learn her quirks and teaching her ours. For the most part she is near perfect. Completely people friendly, dog friendly, and will lick you to death. She does have a prey drive for all game though and will get airborne trying to get at them. Our one neighbor has chickens and they don't interest her too much.

    She'll never be neglected again.

So I had a bit of a battery fiasco about two weeks ago and i wanted to document it here.

I wanted an Odyssey or Northstar AGM 27F but no one could get me one locally and i’d have to order it myself. Dont like the idea of waiting for a battery when its something that can die at any time.

So, after going to every parts store around and checking everything that they had, I ended up going to Battery One and getting a Deka Intimidator AGM 34R. Same/better specs as any lead acid i have had before, and better warranty than any battery i have ever had, so I figured why not give it a try.

Now, the 34R is a Group 34 with Reversed terminals (hence the R designation). It also is CONSIDERABLY smaller than the 27F. Which made fitting it kind of annoying. I believe it weighs about the same as the lead acids I have had, so weight is negligible. It did come with a 1” spacer that clips on the bottom of it to help space it up, which, I DID have to use.

Then, I found out my factory battery tie down would not work...so I took some measurements and ordered a fancy aluminum/anodized one off of Amazon and went BACK to the parts stores to get new Jhooks to make it work. 3 parts stores later, this is the final product:

I went with the 1500lb rated ones this time since the 1000lb rated ones didnt hold up very well.

That one that is destroyed, was already replaced under warranty once. So they dont seem to last super long, but man do they really take the load and wear off of the leaf springs. The stock leaf springs on these trucks fucking suck. I think its about time for me to go ahead and get some more lift on this thing :anonymous:

I feel ya Dawg. I had some pavement patch in my bed the other day, 300 lbs, and it was behind the rear axle, and I had serious squat. I want to swap my OEM packs with the Icon AAL packs I picked up this past summer. I want to do the front coils at the same time too though. @68dave Dave has a compressor so I can put the truck up on stands, and run over to his place and do that on a weekend he doesn't go up to the mountains or maybe one night during the week. He's only an hour from from me. I can use my car to run down and back with them in the trunk. I can do the coilovers, leaf packs and the U bolt flip kit and super bumps all at the same time.

    At least that's my plan.

Whats the hold up?! You can handle that!

I already did everything else so i just need leafs, rear shocks, stainless brake lines, and front coilovers. Then an alignment.

I'm blaming everything I don't do on my furbaby these days.

This Saturday she got a chance to finally meet her two cousins LOL, basically my niece and her boyfriend's dogs. The very light colored one on the left is Myla, and we had her at the pool a bunch of weekends the summer of 2019 while she was a puppy. The darker one on the right is her 8 month old sister Kona. Phoenix is our 15 mo old pitty mix. They played non-stop for 4 + hours.

I still need to call up crown performance and order brake lines :anonymous:

I'm thinking stock length or +1" in the front and +4" in the rear. Sound like a decent start?
