I'm not surprised. that was a pretty hard hit. The donor engine I used was in a front end impact. Thankfully the block was good but the end of the crankshaft was damaged so I had to source another crankshaft.

We hit hard enough the motor stalled and when the tow truck driver lifted my truck up, all the oil and coolant ran out of the block all over my skids and the road :(

Its been 8 days, still no rental yet and still no value offer. I’m supposed to pick up the rental after work tomorrow and have it for at least a week.

I appreciate it. This has by far been the worst experience of my life. I would not wish this mess on anyone.

I’m going to make a specific thread with a full break down, tons of photos and video clips. Might make a video series of the whole teardown. Its going to be a long process.

My plan is to pull the wheels and tires, strip the wheel weights, take them to be road force balanced and checked to make sure all four are straight and true.

Next, remove any and all destroyed metal for the scrap pile, hood, fenders, rad support, crash bar, can i save the very bent @mobtown skid plate? Who knows.

Then, find out if the motor is indeed blown, and how much of it can be saved. Lets pray the trans is unhurt too because the bellhousing may have been destroyed

Then, measure EVERYTHING. Chalk lines, plumb bobs, lasers, string lines, whatever it takes to measure and compare every inch of the frame to a similar chassis to find what moved and how bad so i know how far gone the frame is. That, and whether or not the cab can be saved will determine whether or not the truck gets scrapped.

If I cant cut off and tube the areas of the frame that are ruined, and the cab/cab mounts are ruined, i will have to fully tear down the whole truck and scrap just the frame/cab/busted motor parts, then try to sell or use everything else on the next truck. I really dont want to have to go through all that…

i’m hoping that I can find an 07-15 ACLB 4.0 4x4 to use 70% of the parts from the totaled truck. If i go 07-08, I can use 90% of the parts. If i go 09-15, i will ONLY buy a TRD OR model so that I can do the locker anytime mod in order to have more control over the TC/VSC but then i wont be able to use the detroit tru trac LSD out of the totaled truck and will have to part that rear end out :(

Whichever truck I end up with, I intend to use all of the good suspension parts, all of the skids, the wheels, tires, mud flaps, oil catch can, magnaflow exhaust, factory tow package parts (if needed), radio, back up camera, bed mat, CB radio parts, LED flasher relay, LED lights, interior lights, washable cabin air filter, vent visors, floor mats, and a lot more.

All of these ideas may fall apart and I may just spend a lot of long nights balling my eyes out inside the truck like a bitch, and then stuff it in storage until I can process this whole mess.

Hold up... Who was at fault in the accident? Were they insured? Surely the Truck is totaled (if it is covered by theirs or your insurance).
