This was installed by the previous owner. The mounted lights worked. What do you think remove it or not??

It looks good and works, just leave it. Would it be in the way if you had to remove the rock guard-skid plate?
    I have an 02.

    None. Yet.
I like the looks of bull bars even though they are only functional to hold lights. The tubing on yours looks a little on the skinny side to me, but that's a minor complaint.

Bull bars have never been my thing. What matters is do YOU like it. I'm guessing by you asking you're uncertain. If you're uncertain then take it off for a week or so and make your decision then. Then either put it back on or sell it

Its a pretty minimalistic design. And isnt high enough to be considered a damage multiplier. I say keep. Always good to have extra lighting too.

Depends what you want to do with the front. I would take it off and put a real bumper on it like I did.

sometimes I like it and other I dnt, If I were to removed I'm a bit worried of damaging the lighting cables since they are connected to the headlights and stuff. Would you guys think it could cause some electrical trouble by removing them?? Mine as well leave it and save myself from a headache with electrial issues n stuff

Rather embarrassing to admit I ever owned one.
But back when my junk was new... it started life as a street queen commuter.

    ATSflares02_64e8acac1f3a2353b42b624cd5389c466f86852d.jpg

My friend had the companion nerf or step bars
They didn't hold up to the first berm they nudged.
He thought they looked funny bent at angle...
So he unbolted them and threw them away.

We installed some real sliders on his junk... and he never looked back.
'cept to complain he'd wasted $ 200. initially !? Lol

This bumper thingy is the worse light vibrating POS I've ever owned.
Only thing it really had going for it was as a light bar...
sadly it wasn't even good for that.

So I got rid of mine 6 months after installing it.
'cuz I bumped into a tumble weed rolling down the highway
and it wasn't even worth the trouble of attempting to re-straighten it.

First lite bump into anything... and it will be toast.

But I'd say wait until you get bumped at the mall by some lousy driver
and file a claim with yer insurance company.

You can then apply those monies towards the purchase of a real bumper. Lol

As long as you tape up and insulate the wire ends it wouldnt hurt a thing to take those lights off for a short time while deciding if you like the look or not. Im on the band wagon to get a real bumper and keep the lights on it!
I usually hate bull bars but that one isnt too bad and as mentioned by devin its not a design that would be a "damage multipler" in an accident. So idk keep it on there i guess unless a real bumper could be in the works so to speak!

Yeah I hear you, my mechanic said he can take it off if I let him keep the bar and lights. Maybe I'll keep it

If it's not in the way of anything and the look of it isn't always bothering you, why remove it? Keep it on until you get what you want, someone wants to buy it, or it gets damaged. Plus...you never know when you will need the extra lights.

Mine came with a bullbar from the previous owner. But I removed it and replaced it with a proper brushguard. One that protects the headlights. Bullbars are ok, and protect the bumper when bouncing through deep ditches and such. But dont provide much protection elsewhere.

As mentioned, it serves its purpose of mounting lights. I had one before too but went with a bumper.

The only caveat about those light bars is it can cause a bigger dent on the stock bumper and valance on impact. They are designed to fold up in a hit and even a little love tap can send it into the bumper.

But it's your truck, your money. I say keep it for now until you have to replace it or have the extra funds to.

The PO of my truck had a full sized brush guard mounted with KC lights. I removed it because the mounting brackets covered the recovery hook, it reduced departure and was quite heavy. Also the lights wiring were an electrical fire waiting to happen.
But I have to admit yours is nice for mounting lights and if it doesn't effect recovery points I would keep it.
