Im not sure, my buddy has a Westin Bull bar on his but, no skid plate. He was talking about wanting to get one, but he didn't say if he'd have to take the bull bar off or not. Good question though, wish I could help. But IMO the skid plate wouldn't be seen so I wouldn't think that it would hurt having it on there.

Judgin by your pictures and where my buddies is on his frame, your skid plate would have to come off.

don't know about the aries, but for the westins, the black factory skid can stay on, but the silver one that comes on the off roads will have to come off.

people will tell you not to get a bull bar because they aren't functional (except for mounting lights). 90% of the time, i agree, but it has saved me a couple times. biggest save being off road one time, the truck slid to the side further than i expected in a rocky section. the whole front end was being held up by the skid that is part of the bull bar. saved my bumper, left headlight, and probably my grill.
i know that has nothing to do with your question, jsut thought i'd add

Like M_O_T said... Why not get the Avidoffroad.com light bar? Looks good, is about the same price as the bull bars, and is functional... And there is definitely no need to remove skids or tow hooks!

I have a westin bull bar and was thinking about getting the factory skid plate, do you see any real advantage to having it? I know the westin skid plates is really just for looks but I only really do some light off roading.

I agree they look awful... I wouldn't have one on a nice looking truck. Of course if I wanted a truck to do some serious off-roading then looks aren't important. The more dented and scuffed up the paint the better, as I wouldn't care if a new scratch or dent got added then.
