Has anyone tried to put a front bull bar on a new 2018 with the front collision avoidance sensors?
Trying to figure out if it is doable or if the bull bar would come up to high and mess with it.
    Thanks

Are you talking about the ones with hoops? Without hoops, I couldn't see it interfering at all.

I must ask... why are you putting a bull bar on the front? Pushing bulls?

^ what he say. I had bull bars on my old trucks but that was because I used it what it was meant for: pushing cattle gates and nudging cows out of the road (they won’t move even if you honk).

People just use em for looks (which I think does not look good at all compared to other options), but if you get in an accident, they will damage your vehicle more than without it. Those tubes are normally hollow and you can bend them by just kicking em hard enough.

I would go for steel bumpers with loops if you want grille/headlight protections. The low profile steel bumper that was linked above is also good if you want to keep the stock profile, but the bar/loop on em is has the same function as a bull bar.

I’m reading this thread with interest as I have been looking for similar, but as “push bars”. I honestly haven’t found any. I find many that are winch mounts, but I don’t need that. I’d simply like to supplement the stock front for occasionally pushing things. I know the stock front won’t withstand that and I’m not looking to replace the front end. That’s what drives looking at bull bars... Ideas?

I used to want bull bars as well, but honestly they don't serve any practical purpose, and in the event of an accident can cause more damage to your vehicle. But that's my two cents.

That’s what bull bars are meant to do. Push stuff, but they can’t take a lot of resistance. Also reason why it’s not popular with Tacoma’s is due the decreasing approach angle which is a main selling point for Tacoma

I've never seen one that was stout enough to push anything without bending it hell and back.

Only thing close to a "bull bar" that looks substantial enough to actually do some work is in the link @LivinOnEdge posted above.

The other stuff I've seen was too flimsy and wouldn't even hold up to knocking down like week-like brush.

They attach at one point vertically and will push into your condenser right quick

Which is why I said it doesn’t take a lot of resistance... if you are pushing a cattle gate, it’s perfect for it.

Sadly, for me it feels like I’m reinventing the wheel. The SOS looks the closest, but still seems to be centered around a winch install. I may end up having something fabbed. I’ve seen some that appear as I beam with crossbars, but what little I find for specs seems to be show.
