My truck had one on it from the previous owner. I wanted to take it off but didn’t have the time. At some point someone backed into the bull bar while I was parked and pushed it into my bumper. I didn’t know it had happened. After a few weeks I went to remove it and found a nice long horizontal scuff across the bumper through the paint and primer. The adjustable mounting brackets just gave out. Since the frame and body moved differently it was rubbing the whole time.

A few weeks later I was helping a friend clear out his field. There was a steep grass hill and due to the decreased approach angle I rubbed the bull bar on it. Slow light bump, not violent at all. Totally destroyed the thin metal filler plate on the bottom. All crumpled up in the center.

Then that winter it rusted out internally and the mounting points for one of the brackets just crumbled. It was thrown away and replaced by a Pelfreybuilt.

Maybe it was just a cheap one, not sure. But it had no redeeming qualities at all.

    None.
