    Update:
Matt from BPF contacted me and we discussed the issues I had with skid. Matt is convinced that the skid received all the damage it did in shipping due to the tow hook in the box. He also apologized for the bad spacers and is shipping me a new set. I'm glad that Matt went out of his way to confront the issues and did what was necessary to fix the problem.
    ===================
I bit the bullet and grabbed a BP skid for my '16 TRD Sport. I wanted to give a premature overview of what I've seen so far.

First: the skid is scratched to shit. I posted the obvious ones below, but there looks to be a lot.

Second: the powder coat seems minimal and not evenly applies.

Third: the customer service sucked. I spoke with them through email a couple times. It was inconsistent, unprofessional, and sloppy.

I work too much to spend the time dealing with returning this and finding another one. I'll seal the scratches and hope for the best, but this seems to be a subpar product.

I realize that this thing will get beat up. But it shouldn't show up to my door looking like shit.

    Buyers beware!

Do you hold no possible thought of damage occurring from shipment?

You just pissed and moaned but said nothing regarding how it was packaged.

I haven't heard a single complaint about his products until yours.

    D8,

Hold your negativity. I'm sure it's hard for you considering what I've seen. However... Feel free to read below. Looks like there's been a few complaints about BP. I'll teach you how to use the search function later. ;)

The packaging was solid. Completely wrapped in plastic wrap. Definitely didn't happen in shipping.

Yeah those complaints are numerous and lengthy, what an exhaustive read.

I'm not negative, anyway, and I rarely bother to tell people to search unless they're incredibly lazy and want someone to tell them what lift they want, how much it gives them, what the price is, where to buy it, how to install it, and what to tell their friends to make it sound cool.

I don't have an issue with you, all I said was complaints on his products are uncommon. You said his customer service sucks, what did he reply to your complaints?

Normally I would side with the buyer on stuff like this, but even on a medical instrument scratches that are that percentage of the total size of a part would get a green light. That scratch is maybe .1% or less the length of the part.

Is it possible hardware in the box could have scratched the part during shipping?

Sorry man, no sympathy from me. Skids, plate bumpers, sliders and all other armor are functional items first, not decorative. They are meant to take a beating so the rest of your truck doesn't have to. If you're buying heavy steel plate for mall cred you're doing it wrong.

Fair enough. No issue with you as well.

In his defense, I haven't forwarded any complaint to them. It wouldn't be beneficial to me to do so. It's easier to fix the problem on my end and move on. While warning others what I recieved.

But I did ask a few questions before purchase. And asked of status long after purchase. The responses were quick, cookie cutter answers that didn't address my question.

Look. I'm not looking for a gold nugget. But to get a scratched up piece of steel in the mail. While also not being overly impressed with customer service... AND seeing other complaints in this forum should say something.

Maybe I'll feel differently once I bolt it on the truck, but I doubt it. I'll let tou guys know.

Word on the street is that an aluminum skid plate won't rust when scratched. I wouldn't know though since mine are steel and I just use black spray paint to touch it up.

    No problem with that.

I am a little disappointed he hasn't been given a chance to correct the issue before you posted this about it, but it is what it is.

For the record, I am not a supporter of BP Fab. I find his business ethics and personal morals to be completely fucked.

Silliness. Do you buy a new set of tires half worn because that's what they're made for? I bought a new product, it came damaged, and that's it. If your in the business of buying new things at a used condition, then go for it. I guess my standards are unreasonable.
