I had an 82 Subaru that would bump start on flat ground in 2nd gear with about 5 feet of pushing. It was so easy I put off buying a battery for weeks, as I was young and broke, and beer and pizza were more important.

couple years ago one of my buddies picked up a mid 2000's mustang GT for a summer car. leaving a Chinese restaurant late one night, we get back to find his car completely dead. The restaurant is on a highway with a large slanted parkinglot feeding directly down into the highway. kowloon restuarant for any of my boston people out there. We turned the car downhill with probably a football field or so of space before we'd hit the highway. thought it would be more than enough room to get it going but turned out to not be the case. Tried 3 times with no luck, engine would turn but wouldn't stay on. Ended up with his dead car ~10 feet or so away from one of the entrances to the highway. luckily one of the last few people coming out of the restaurant had cables and was able to give a jump. probably should have saved the sketchy attempts and asked for some jumpers first, but between my DD friend annoyed with his car and the rest of us a few mai tais deep our thought process wasnt functioning on all cylinders. he sold the stang shortly after that ordeal
