Bad valve cover gasket causing major handling problem. Oil soaked rack bushings let rack move .5 to 1 inch. 31-10.50s all around on 15x10s. Never had any handling problems until oil leak showed up.

Pays to occasionally open the hood and look things over, then take corrective action. You know, like fixing leaks.

Had the truck since 2005. Leak started back in the summer. Several valve cover bolts were less than finger tight. Tightened everything up, leak dried up till around Christmas then came back with a vengeance. Installed new valve cover gasket today. New urethane rack bushings ordered.

Maybe I should have asked if anybody has had similar problems. Has anyone had similar problems concerning rack and pinion mounting bushings?
