The ARB rear bumper supposedly keeps working BSM and parking (I emailed ARB to ask). That's what I'll be getting. Actually looks pretty good too.

Guess I am one of the few with the C4 BSM bumper where the sensors actually work. They work just fine. :)

What? So you are saying if you do a CMC, anything above 45MPH and you die, period? But if you don't do a CMC you're fine? Where is this proven?

Please re-read. I am saying that, above 45 mph, nothing will help you that is currently offered in passenger vehicles. Cab mount chop or not.
The good news is full head on accidents usually occur when vehicles are below that speed. Sure, you hear about that guy going 70 mph when he hit something, but most of the time, the collision was glancing or speed was scrubbed off by a slide or brakes.

There is a reason car crash tests are run at 35 mph into a solid barrier... much faster and nothing survives.

Now, if.we had full cages and racing seats and helmets and HANS devices, then we survive but nobody could afford it.

Mass always wins in wrecks too. Average vehicle weighs 4K lbs. Anything over that skews safety in your favor. Surburbans and full size etc will be safer than a Fit.

The way crash tests are conducted is a sham. They should be crashed into another vehicle of average mass going same speed.
But if you did that, nobody would ever buy a small light car again because they lose every time.

That bumper looks pretty good. But...is there going to be a cover for the sensor?

Looks a little weird being wider than the truck. Needs a swing out. Not sure I am sold.

It's not wider than the truck. It sits less wider than the fenders. The angle of picture doesn't depicts it correctly. I like it because you can use that as a step also. They're also working on a swing out. And there's also a cover for the sensor, it's best contacting them for the those details.

@Heavily Meditated - thank you, definitely one to consider. Interested to see if folks will need to to get their BSM re-calibrated after install and how much it costs.

I am not sold on the styling and utility of an extra step.:anonymous: Seems redundant with the tire or the bumper/tailgate being so near. But maybe they just need more space for the BSM sensor.:notsure:

Extending the bumper to the wheel well would help blend the extra width. Like a high clearance style bumper.

Glad to finally see some options!

@RyanDCLB @Osteology....glad to help out! I saw the rear bumper thread & just so happen to see yall needed some options. It's definitely ideal for a lot of us who want to keep the BSM, get more clearance, & at the same time not cut or drill into anything. Of course it's not for everyone, but I'm always willing to give new products a try. I'm glad to finally see some options though (no need for re-calibration from what I was told) I was at a car show & just so happen to take some pictures from the side. So it doesn't poke out like it seems to be. IMG_20190921_093631.jpg IMG_20190921_093644.jpg

How did you hear about the cover for the sensor? I'd like to see that!

Also, It's nice they have the receiver built in and the swing up plate.

A couple of thoughts, I'm not a big fan of the A logo, but I guess these logos are the new norm. I'm wondering if the OEM license plate lights can be reused? And, what model flood light gets installed in the rectangle holes?

@RyanDCLB the Apogee website shows the LED backup light that fits the cutouts, it’s a Baja Design S2. I like the hidden hitch in theory, but our 1UpUSA bike rack clears the tailgate when the gate is fully open, which is really handy, so we’d need a hitch dropper which of course adds overhang.

Yes the OEM license plate lights can be used. The cover for the sensor was what they told me at the show. But again I did not see it personally, it was what they told me when i was there. I'm sure you can call them & ask them for a picture to post of the sensor cover. IMG_20190921_094735.jpg

    Fantastic, thanks for finding this!

Sent an email asking about the everyday bumping concerns with misalignment. Will purchase if a good response comes back lol.

    "
    Hello!

Thanks for your interest in our bumper! In regards to your concern with the BSM issue, the factory BSM mount, while plastic, is firm and secure almost identically to ours. Our BSM brackets will be constructed most likely of ABS plastic which is extremely forgiving and shock absorbent.

Even if the BSM shifted left, right, or up a few millimeters, this should not affect its performance. Our product will thoroughly be tested before release. Any issues will be corrected before they hit the public eye. Once again, thanks for your interest. If you have any more questions please feel free to inquire."
