Don’t the BSM and cross traffic monitors use different sensors?

Nice! I like the fact that it's being tested. Definitely will be all over this bumper, once i get my suspension & tires. Can't wait for a potential black Friday deal. Or my tax returns next year LOL.. Thank you @Alnmike

Pretty sure it's the same sensor. You may be thinking of the backup sensors? (little circles)

Yup, you’re right. Forgot that three things are monitored back there... backup is its own.

My understanding is that BSM and Cross Traffic use the same sensors in the corners, and the backup alert uses the sensors under the black circular covers. I live in an urban area with lots of back out parking and pedestrians who wander around staring at their cellphones (and car drivers zooming by also on their phones) who seem oblivious to the risk of going behind a truck backing out between two vans. . I think I’m pretty careful but Cross Traffic alert is helpful.

Found your post in another thread, figured I'd tag you here. Would love input from someone who actually does this for a living and doesn't have to have a "borrowed" license for solidworks lol. Trying to design basically rear sliders that just bolt into the frame where the tow hitch bolts. Might really be a marketable niche with all the people that refuse to lose safety feature functionality.
Also can't see Toyota backing away from their easy cop out design for a good 7-8 model years (2017-2024 or whenever).

Super interested in this bumper too! Looking for the swingout like some others here. Any idea when they might become available?

I'm with you, those things are here to stay. Any aftermarket company that doesn't adapt is gonna be losing sales. I won't consider a bumper without it no matter how much experience I have backing up.

If you’re talking about the Summit bumper then you’ll lose BSM but you will still have the parking censors. Unless they changed the design since 2019 to work the BSM.

    Source: I has it.
