    Guys-

I was thinking about mounting something like this directly to my bumper. I have the OEM aluminum skid plate and really don't want to mount a light bar just for the additional lighting. Anyone mounted an aftermarket light to their bumper? Anything I should watch out for in a 2nd generation...sensors, etc.? Any pictures you might have would be appreciated.

you might want to look into something like mounting them behind a new grill like a grillcraft. a lot of people on here do that. That mounts to the grill not the bumper. I dont think u want to start drilling holes in your bumper just to mount lights.

If it were me, I'd pony up the dough and get an nFab light bar

I just ordered the N-Fab light bar and I am waiting for it to arrive. I am having problems choosing between the PIAA 520 ATP, PIAA 520 SMR and the KC Slimlites 130w Titanium. I will be installing 4 lights.

Yeah, I thought about a light bar, the n-fab in particular; however, I've seen the top bumper mounted lights done on a Gen-1 Tacom and it looked great. I'm not really into the grill mount either. I really like the looks of the front end of the truck, but just wanted to add some additional lighting for traveling at night. Has anyone mounted any low profile lights in the grill looking area at the bottom of the bumper? I've thought about that as an option too, but thought something like the larger round lights would put out more light.

    Thanks guys.

Wanted to revive this because I haven't found anyone actually doing this...
Is it possible with PIAA 520's?
I have the PIAA's ready to go and can't decide where to put them, but the bumper is looking very likely right now. Just wondering if anyone has actually done it???

I mounted a set of Hella 500's behind the bumper centered in the lower opening. I used a piece of 3" aluminum angle iron attached to the back of the aluminum crash bar. Since the opening is smaller than the diameter of the lights, the upper and lower portion of the lights are blocked. Doesn't seem to block that much of the light output, I like the look, and it serves my purpose. I'll post up some pics tonight.

just mounted some hella black magic 500s to my bumper, they look good, only thing i recommend is a big washer on the back, and dont mount them on top of the bumper, mount them going into the front of the bumper, its more sturdy because of the bend on top and bend underneath, that make that part more sturdy.
