I need new bumper reinforcement brackets for my '06. This TSB explains the rattle noise I hear, and I have had 2 different shops confirm this is what it is. I was wondering if I should just get the OEM parts, which are quite pricey, $160 a piece from parts.toyota.com, or should I go with aftermarket such as these?

i literally throw those little extension brackets out all the time when installing a plate bumper, surely you could find someone near you who's putting on an aftermarket bumper and discarding theirs. Worth a shot

I've been tossing around just getting a steel bumper as well. That's obviously a lot more expensive but I want to do it eventually so maybe I'll just keep living with the annoyance until I'm ready to make the investment into a new bumper.
