I've done a mod or two
Never worked with it, but really any plastic would work okay and have a lesser chance of cutting you if you brush up against it wrong.

Finally got my bumper on. Didnt end up doing any welding but learned a lot. WIll probably do some welding addons to it later.
Got my frame straightened as part of the process which proved to be a great idea. It was tweaked more than was obvious but the frame/body shop stayed close to their estimate and I feel did a good job. Had to take it back once since the front rail was off by about .5cm when the trail-gear bumper came in. Couldnt get crossmember on. I didnt want to wait 6 weeks for someone to fab something since im not that picky and wanted something simple for now. Plus I could move it to a new taco/runner if *knock on wood* anything tragic happens. Im glad I passed on the stinger. I do plan to weld a smal rectangle on on as a later project.

Found that its easier to just cut the old flimsy crossmember out. I think it may have been welded back in slighty forward of where it was factory leading to the need to cut it but no big deal. So after more work than expected got it all painted and bolted on. (skid is still off in pic)

I will also add, for anyone whos frame isnt 100% straight you will likely have to use a large rubber hammer generously and possibly grind a baby bit for clearance at the side ears. Crossmember actually weant on better at a straight downward angle and then working it up into place if anyone else has issues(maybe exclusive to my frame?)

We finished the bumper for that tundra I posted about on the previous page. Turned out alright for our first bumper.
