Listen, im Not a dummy! Nor a kid.
I understand how things work, im just saying if there is such a demand for your products -- eventually you will have to grow! Or people will buy elsewhere . Im all for small fam buisiness, and totally support them evey chance i get, i have my own . But i know there are plenty of very skilled fabbers/welders that could use a job! All you have to do is control quality and make sure your expectations are clear, check everything! Instead of doing all this work and hundreds and hundreds of orders alone or personally. If your good at what you do , growing wont hurt!
All aside i think pelfrey has the best looking stuff and will still support them , just my opinion! Burn me down if im rong lol

Or they're not doing so well so it takes a really long time to get it done. Not saying that is the case with any of the companies on this forum or that we were speaking of.

Before starting on my own I worked for some large auto parts manufacturers they seem to be doing well on the outside. But true day today business was they were struggling to pay their bills I wasn't getting paid every week.

Worked for 3 different places. All similar scenarios...

The reality with the last company I was working for was the orders were there the product was wasn't getting out at a reasonable amount of time because the owner would take all the money and not buy materials to make the products.

So you truly never really know what's going on. I always say get custom by buy local.... from a local shop....like me.... you can most likely get it faster and with every little detail that you would like.

I had a bad experience with a pretty popular bumper builder here on TW. After 6 months of waiting and not being able to get into contact with him the last 3 I chalked it up as a loss (deposit).
I'm super happy with my All-Pro aluminum Expo though. I think it was on my doorstep about 3 weeks after I ordered it (and thats because they were sold out when i purchased). And the fit is perfect.

    Yes sir
But what are your orders like? Lots of these bigger companies have a ton of orders and I'm guessing they don't have a robot machine laser cutting the outline of a plate bumper and another for an aluminum bumper like cookies so they can crank bumpers out like a factory. Also, they're not just making bumpers, there's skids, sliders, etc. that guys are waiting for so I'd guess that's another factor in how long their lead times are. Only so many hands right? Along with they could be having problems holding materials in stock to fabricate their products. Lots of possibilities... I doubt these guys are just tossing out random numbers on lead times...

I'm not saying their lead times are necessarily correct or fair but I doubt they want to say "yea, it'll be 2 months" and then they run into some problem along the way and they've got a pissed customer cause now it's gonna be another month. (yes I know there are pissed customers cause they waited 6 months...)

6 months is shit, but I mean that's where guys like you come into play!

Thanks. It was a couple hundred. But if you get it around a holiday (I got mine at 4th of July) they usually have sales so its basically like free shipping.

Wow! What a great thread. Thanks duck! I'm new to the group and a proud owner of a new 2015 trd 4x4 tacoma. I've been looking at all the bumpers with winch plate. I do like the push bar or grill protector. I saw a good deal on th body armor bumper but have read some not so good things on here about it. Anyone know something local to me or maybe one of the vendors that would ship to me that doesn't take 6 weeks or more and under 1k? I may be having a bit of a pipe dream but some help would be apreciated. Thank ya

Your closest is SOS, in SC. He's actually got a group buy currently under way I believe. The build times are all about the same. Not much of a way around them. You.may be close enough for a day trip and install. Yes, do yourself a favor and stay away from body armor.

Thanks ERMB. I haven't heard of SOS. I will look them up and check out that group buy!

Selling road armor front stealth bumper.

Paid 1599 plus tax and and 200 for freight shipping in mid June.

From Texas and pretty much one of the most stout bumpers on the market for any truck. They kind of pride themselves in that.

$1300 and if you're near Los Angeles I'll meet up with you. If not you can either come pick it up or have it shipped at your cost.

If you want me to throw in the 2 sets of Rigid D2s then we can talk. And or the Warn Zeon-10s Winch.

    MODS...

I have been researching front bumpers and ran across this thread (very good BTW). I noticed there is a vendor who's information is out of date. You may consider changing or removing so members don't spend a ton of time chasing dead ends.

    TIA!

Speaking of reasonable timeframes. I'm looking to purchase a pre runner style front tube bumper and wondering what companies and vendors on the forum can help me out?

Looking for reasonably priced on the bumper and shipping to Arkansas, good quality, with a reasonable lead time.

I do not have months to wait on the bumper. I understand being busy with only so many hands but time isn't a luxury I have at the moment. No offense to those company's, but I guess I'm looking for someone that's not so busy with orders at the moment.

Why do you suggest to stay away from body armor?

There are just so many different and higher quality options out there. For not much more money, vendors like brute force, addicted offroad, 4x innovations, are so much higher quality, better looking and more functional than the body armor stuff. If you look around you'll find lots of examples of the vendors I mentioned on the site and even if you Google them than the few examples of body armor that pop up. I've done my research over the years, and from what I have found and seen body armor brand is just inferior to all the others. Hope you find what your looking for, the best part is there are lots of options! :D

Luxury Extreme Motorsports. I got mine from there. Kinda high priced in m opinion but the quality of welding and dimple are solid. The bumper is not made to be hoisted upward (I fabbed an "L" shape bracket and welded it to mine so I could lift upward on it) but you can be pulled from it (laterally, I never had issues) and you cannot put a mount on it. It was a newer company when I got mine and they had awesome customer service and the product ended up being solid. Again, I only mention this company bc you specifically asked for pre runner style, which is what I wanted also. Hope it helps!

Take the place of your standard hook. Cleaner look and ease of use. No need to clip the hook to a tow point.
