If you are planning to replace the bumpers eventually and don’t plan on keeping or selling the stock bumpers, then all you really need to worry about is picking plastic up off the trail.

My stock bumpers are all beat to crap, but I’m not too worried about since I plan to replace them and that involves cutting the stock front bumper.

Except for a place to attach a winch, bumpers are not as useful as sliders and skids for getting over obstacles in my experience.

I missed what year you are looking for? We have Tacoma's 2005-2022 instock in a couple different configurations along with some that are powder coated. We even have some aluminum ones, but i'd go with steel if you are hitting the rubicon

I have a 21, any chance you could PM me what models you might have? I would be most interested in powder coated.

I thought about that as well, but the trailer hitch is more of a concern, would like it relocated higher. A place for a winch is desired as well.

Ya I always found 4wp to be pretty competitive in terms of pricing, sometimes even better then the people making the parts. Plus no lead times most of the time, its either in stock or its not.

I agree on getting rid of the stock hitch receiver for a hidden hitch to improve departure angle, but the stock hitch does protect the bumper, tailgate, etc.

you are not kidding, those jeeps are going to have taco dinner! I’d never be able to keep up with what they will be doing, probably want the truck for hauling their coolers.

OP- definately will need lower armor back to the transmission if you don’t have it, along with a exhaust reroute and tailpipe bob.

I'll second the Backwoods Adventure Mods bumpers. I have their front bull bar bumper and love it.

I went with BAMF for the rear, and would highly recommend them as well, though the wait time would assumingly be too long for you.
