It's as short or as long as you want to make it. Along with the story, side quests, public events, etc... We've had a lot of fun since it came out and we've played all night. The game looks amazing and I "personally" like the direction they are going. We already knew that the story most likely wouldn't reach level cap. It's all about the adventures, lost sectors, strikes, crucible, etc... And at least this time they had a story.

Finished the campaign and I've got to say that we really enjoyed it. It was actually a lot of fun. The new strikes are pretty awesome also. But I can see how the grind will be real (just like RoI) but that's okay I can handle that.

 

I think you'll like it. As far as launches go it was extremely smooth last night. I waited in a queue for about 10 mins before I got in and we didn't log off until 8 am this morning for a few hours. Played all afternoon and will most likely play for quite a while tonight. Though I'm not staying up all night again lol.

 

It's quite a bit different than the beta. The story is actually pretty damn good considering there really was no story in D1

 

I just switched to PS4 from Xbox

I am curious if TW members can suggest a clan or interested in starting a D2 PS4 Clan.

The game and story are strong considering how D1 rolled out.

Got my WL to 280 and I think I'll start on the hunter today since the leveling pretty much caps around 280. If you try real hard you can get past 280 but the results of playing for quite a long time might get you a few levels here and there so it isn't worth it to me. The raid IIRC is going to be 260 minimum to get in the door so I should be okay. Finished up pretty much everything other than some adventures and lost sectors. Got a lot of new exotics but my favorite combo so far is the Mida Combo. I'm glad they brought the Multi Tool forward and with the addition of the Mini Tool (which is stupid OP) your character moves extremely fast without sacrificing any resilience or recovery. And I love how some of the new exotic weapon sets are locked behind quests. Pretty cool.

Crucible is the biggest change that I've noticed and I love that it is focused on gunplay, teamwork, and not just spamming grenades and supers. You actually have to have some skill with shooting and knowing when to use your grenades and supers since they come up so much less often. So it ends up being a lot of head to head gunfights. Knowing when to bug out of a fight is also key if it's a 2 v 1. Drop a healing pool around a corner if I know someone is coming just to give me a boost to the fight and back into it for the overshield. Haven't gone in on the Hunter but so far from what I've seen is they seem a little underused. Let's put it this way, I've yet to be killed by a hunter super. The roaming Titan Smash is pretty OP though lol.

By far one of the coolest changes is the NF. I love the timer and the way you have to keep boosting the seconds by killing. There is no rest period as you have to constantly on the move. The way we did it was whatever the burn was, one of us would do damage to everything (including the boss) while the other two would kill things to keep the timer from running out. Pretty cool idea on the NF.

*EDIT* If you do decide to do the NF. Once you take out the two tanks skip the next room once you get there by jumping on your speeders and just ride past everything until you get to the last room. That will shave off a lot of time. It's kind of tricky as you have to jump up on the left side of the ramp and hop on your speeded and ride by a bunch of shit but it isn't too hard. Rewards are worth doing it though.

If you aren't in a clan I HIGHLY suggest you join one since every member contributes to the clans level. You also get some really good rewards for being in a clan. Each character is capped to 5000 points each week but with everyone contributing it adds up pretty fast.

All in all I'm pleased and can see me playing this even more than D1.

 

I just looked and I've got 53 hrs on the WL and that's the only character I've played so far lol.

 

So... Yeah. Got this. You have to have the quest and then finish the NF with more than 5 mins remaining on the clock which is pretty challenging I've got to say. But worth it. The Rat King stacks damage if you are near others with the same weapon and when you reload it makes you invisible.

 

68 hrs 33 mins so far on this character lol.

 

Lol.. I understand. Retried and can play all day and night if I want.

 

Best legendary scout in the game is the nameless midnight. Simply put, its incredible.

I just hit 269 after back to back NFs. The second run we finished with 545 left. (I did not have the rat king quest)
We somehow stunned the NF boss and dropped him in like 30 seconds. All i know is it was arc and we all let him have it with arc weapons.

I have the next part of the drang quest. So ill finish that before i do the mida quest.

What a grind these last 2 days. I was 150 Sat morning and had not finished the story yet. So glad the lady was out of town this weekend.

Also, i 100% agree with the clan stuffs. So very worth it. We are 20 strong and 13k from the 100k stop.

 

I still use the Mida combo for the speed for most strikes. Mida still rules and we destroyed the NF with them. The way we did the NF with plenty of time to spare was we all specked arc and burned him down before he could port.

 

Thats exactly how we did it, we just didnt know it lol.

The two tank part we actually left one alone and killed the tank on the bridge

 

Yep... we did it the same way. Skipped the first tank and 3 lighting grenades took the second tank down. Rocket in the door with the war dogs and move on. We also go on our speeders and skipped an entire room.

 

As soon as you can spawn a sparrow head back left to those hydraulic lookin things. Jump up and spawn it again and fly into the ship.

 

Anyone want to clan up or have a running clan? On at 7am eastern time til 11ish normally.
