Bungie's Destiny

I know I have been MIA on your latest escapades brother, but the new expansion drops tomorrow? Aye man, looking forward to the next commentary, Im surprised you havnt considered making a review channel for D since you have all aspects of it tested out.

 

Drops at 12pm my time today. I've got pretty much unlimited time and I had thought about creating a channel but it's so saturated at this time gaining viewers would be an uphill climb. Plus... I'd rather just play the game honestly. We stream pretty much everything we do so the stream is almost always active. I've got plenty of viewers there but other than that, I just don't want to put in the time creating content that has most likely already been covered by someone that is already established. Breaking into a niche in youtube now is pretty hard since most anything Destiny is covered by someone else.

 

Plus... most of my shit is opinion based rather than objective based. That's not good for viewership. My opinion may differ from someone else's. There's nothing wrong with that but no one wants to hear someone bitch about the game being broken for the last year on a youtube channel.

 

Haha I understand man, sounds like you have contemplated that avenue before. I think the tube could use more honest guys who have their own takes on D. Like you said, its already pretty saturated with guys trying to be purely objective based. Considering your strategy and tactics, I bet you would get some decent viewers since your stats would back up your commentary pretty well I would imagine.

 

When I retired last year my clan tried to get me to start a youtube channel devoted to D2. As much as I know about the game, there are others out there that know way more than I do. And at the time... my channel would have been about how bad D2 sucks (I hope that changes with this expansion). I set up the twitch stream for our clan so we get plenty of viewers that way. But now... there's really no way I can see breaking into that market. Creators like Datto, Houndish, Byf, Kackis (but fuck him. I can't stand him), Badass Gaming, Unknown Player, etc... you're not getting in. So unless your a god in PvP, steeped in Destiny lore like Byf, or you are invited to Bungie events it's kind of hard to gain any kind of meaningful viewership. Let's put it this way... I don't watch any videos from people that I don't already know that have established themselves. So I would imagine others would do the same with mine.

I have all the tools to create content since I use Adobe Premiere and Final Cut Pro X but that is time consuming and unless you are able to get information first then you are last and no one cares.

 

Personally, I always like to watch youtube/twitch of ppl I've personally ran with instead of the bigger names, aside from Byf for his lore videos, but that's just me

 

Byf is awesome. I'm glad he's done the research so I don't have to. His videos are top notch. The Book of Sorrows videos were great.

 

The book of sorrows were awesome they really helped piece everything together

Well sounds like you got it nailed down with the market...bummer as that does sound like the honest reality of things. I think so many guys have played the D2 hate on the big channels that at this point it finally has blown out where the new content will either set things further back in reputation for bungie, or they will finally be taking a turn for the good. I def agree with all your points, but just curious why you don't like kackis? I think his vids are decent, but for some reason his name intro seems to crack me up whenever he says it in the beginning of the video.

 

3rd day in and I'm sitting at 507.

I've got to say... So far this expansion hasn't disappointed at all. Story was good. Hunting the Barons was a cool addition to the storyline which made it non linier so you could progress anyway you wanted. Bounties out the ass so you will NEVER run out of things to do and RANDOM FUCKING ROLLS!!!!!! Jesus that one addition has made the game so much better. The bows are awesome and so much fun to play around with. The Dreaming City is as large (if not larger) as the Dreadnaught was and that's just one part of the game. There is something to do now everyday which wasn't the case a week ago. They must have been working on this for over a year because there is just so much shit to do now. One thing that I really like is it is going to be a grind to get all your characters to max level. And I mean a grind. That suits me just fine.

So everyday I can log in and there is always something to do. So far.... Impressed.

 

Started at 12pm on launch and got off about 1am that night because I wanted to hit 50. Logged in the next day and the grind was on. I had so many tokens and gunsmith materials to turn in that I've gotten some pretty good god roll weapons. Got a pulse rifle with rangefinder and dragonfly, a god roll Better Devils with rangefinder and outlaw, and I finally got the Trinity Ghoul Bow which is amazing. Get a crit shot and the next shot will chain to any enemies around and destroy them. Gambit is a lot of fun and I've ranked up twice so far and only lost one match.

Bungie made huge improvements to this game to where I actually enjoy logging in each day and just exploring because there is so much to see.

 

Oh... and the Blind Well is a lot of fun in the Dreaming City.

 

Sooooooooo. After being off destiny 1 for about 2 years, I just broke down and got D2 and 3 mths of gold. Anyone up to play with a complete new person for D2.

I hope I can import my character from D1
