Bungie's Destiny

Can someone remind me why I cannot increase to level 21?? My power is like 255 and I’ve filled my level bar 3 times now but never going above level 20. What am I doing wrong

 

Are you just playing the base Destiny release? Many of us have all the expansions. Level is capped eventually, and in Forsaken you stop at 50. Then each time you fill the bar you get an Eververse Engram for fru fru stuff.

 

Correct, I am on the base game. Do I have to get forsaken to go beyond lvl 20?

I have also saved all the raids strikes and stuff for when I reach 255-260 to push through that “cap”. Can I continue increasing my LL beyond 255 at lvl 20?

 

I don't recall where light level stops -- it's not really capped, but you won't get drops above a certain level. I think the expansions take you to 30, Forsaken takes you to 50.

But what expansions are there other than foresaken? I don’t see any other “planets” to click on besides the normal ones and the foresaken storyline in my orbit???

 

Where do I go about getting that? (That sounds like a D1 expansion)

Got expansion I and II bundled for $10. Not bad. Got to lvl22 and 260. It’s nice progressing again haha

 

So the two expansions before forsaken are only ten bucks right now? Wow man that is pretty cheap...a little enticing.

 

I already got the Vanilla for D2, but appreciate that Danny. Might have to keep an eye on it since forsaken seems to have delivered quite well.

 

You are telling me man...finally fired up my box last night to just game for the first time in probably 6 weeks. I decided to check out ESO as its been a minute...that game is getting me interested in buying some expansions when I still have done so little compared to what the vanilla currently has. Its always fun to have a game you can just get lost in for a little while.

 

Yea, In the Microsoft store on Xbox I purchased it direct. As long as you have a Gold membership it’s 10$ to get both. If not, the regular price is 19.99 each. I bought the game used like a month ago for 13$, beat campaign in a week then didn’t touch it until getting the expansions last night

 

Smart move getting it at that price...wow didn't realize D has become that cheap!

 

I know D2 with all the expansions (excluding Forsaken) were free on PS4 Store. Not sure if that is still going on right now or not? Thing is... CoO sucked balls and you will hate that expansion but you will need to complete it to continue to level unless they have changed something that I don't know about since I completed it way back in the first of the year. Warmind wasn't nearly as bad but still not great by any means. Forsaken changed everything for me. I'm loving the game right now and I have very little to criticize about the game or it's implementation.

My criticism is geared more to the players that "think" they should have access to all activities because they paid for the game. I hate to tell you but it doesn't work that way in Destiny. They tried that with the release of D2 and it damn near killed the game off forever. There are things to do in game for everyone but there are things that a very small precentiage of players that will have access to the exclusive content and that's the way it should be IMO. I'll be the first to admit I'm an elitist. That is the reason I left my first clan and started my own clan because I wanted everything out of the game instead of being content to just running strikes and VoG here and there. I want everything the game has to offer and I'll do whatever I have to to gain access to those items. I understand that it can be argued that I have all the time in the world to play and for others RL gets in the way and that is a valid argument. I won't take that away from anyone in that situation. But on the flip side of that coin... I align myself with other players that think like I do and want the same things that I do out of the game.

Looking back at all the raids that were ever released we were always in the top 3% of players that completed the most challenging content and there is a little bit of satisfaction in that to me. But I take someone that says that the game is too hard or too hard to get a team together to do the challenging content is dumbing down the game. There are plenty of things for you to do in the game. Those people have just as much chance to do exactly what I did if they put forth the effort to do just that. Get good is my motto. If you truly want to do endgame content find a group. Our group is always open to new players and we are more than willing to help others with the knowledge we've gained throughout the games life cycle.

Forsaken right now is damn near perfect with just a small percentage of things that could be tweaked (which btw Bungie is looking into and being transparent about). There are plenty of guides out there if you don't know exactly how to do something. All it takes is a little effort on your part. I just hate to hear someone complain that the game is too hard or not casual friendly. I do not care one bit if it isn't casual friendly. No MMO I ever played in the past was casual friendly if you wanted the endgame gear so that's the perspective that I look at it from.

Destiny 2 doesn't need to be dumbed down again. It's fine just the way it is right now and needs to remain that way.

 

To go a little further... Right now I'm working for the Malfeasance, Wish Ender bow, Redrix's Broadsword, and Luna's Howl. Those are the things that I want out of the game and I'm willing to grind to get them. None of those are easy to obtain but I will get them all because I want them and I'm willing to put forth the time and effort to get them. So if someone that plays casually comes in and says that they should have access to those items in the game because they paid for the game I say stick with what your good at until you are ready to tackle those challenges. THEY SHOULD NOT BE GIVEN TO YOU PERIOD!! You EARN them.

 

I agree with the need to earn but having to wait for the Ether Harvest to get to Dreaming City should be fixed. If you're lucky it comes up right away, if not, it may be days of waiting if your play schedule doesn't line up with it.

I'm currently at 531 Titan and 535 Warlock. Probably should be higher but I've been needing to replay things to help some friends level up.

And yes, Foresaken and the new reward/infusion systemhas taken this game to a whole new level.

 

Are you talking about the ether harvest public event?

 

Yep. It came up right away for me but my for my friend it was nothing but Glimmer and Ether Extractions for hours at a time.

 

I've only been able to successfully complete that into an heroic event once. People just don't understand you have to shoot all the clouds before they get to the sevitor. I don't even join that public event (or any for that matter) in the Dreaming City unless it's a Petra bounty.

 

Hell... I'm sitting at 580 right now and have only completed the first two encounters of the raid so far. Just waiting on the rest of our clan to catch up to a power level that is appropriate. I spend most of my time in PvP and Gambit. Did get the God roll Bad Omens last night with tracking and cluster bombs.
