Bungie's Destiny

The issue with Auto Rifles in this meta right now is they just can't compete effectively against Pulse Rifles / Hand Cannons. With almost every Auto Rifle out there you will either get one that has good range but shit stability or... low range and great stability. In this meta it just doesn't work. I've been killed only a handful of times with the Horror Story for instance and that was either because I was caught off guard or was already low heath from a previous battle. But one on one... I'll destroy you with a Pulse / Hand Cannon because the ttk is so long on most Auto Rifles. So when I see someone running an Auto Rifle I don't even give them a second thought. I know that I will win that engagement if it is a true one on one.

The meta, right now, is Pulse Rifles / Hand Cannons. If you are using something else you are playing against the meta and you are setting yourself up for failure. Sure... I'll occasionally go in with a different loadout just to play around with something different but not very often. I went in with the Wavesplitter yesterday just to play around with it and I was unimpressed. I'll take my shotgun anyday over that. Sure I got a few kills with it and it does melt. But the ammo economy for that weapon just isn't viable in my eyes. You start off with 50 and it takes at minimum 30 to kill an opponent? Well then you're left with a gun that can't kill another opponent unless they happen to be damaged already. Then you take into account "if" you pick up a special brick laying on the ground it will only give you back "maybe" 4 shots? Nah... I'll stick with the shotgun anyday. Add to the fact that I rarely get killed by the Wavesplitter so it's not a threat or a viable weapon "for me" personally.

And I'll always firmly stand by my opinion of people that use Telesto in its current state. Telesto was NEVER intended to map people. If it was, it would be a Linear Fusion rifle but in this case "right now" it's not. But, it will do just that and in this case the weapon is doing something it was never designed to do and it is broken because of that fact. It is a Fusion Rifle that is supposed to only be able to be used in close to medium range battles and with that I have no issue whatsoever (much like the Main Ingredient). But if they are going to leave it in its "current" state then it MUST be moved to the heavy slot just like every other Linear Fusion Rifle. JMHO.

 

Wish I would have known. I just finished my 4th reset just a few mins ago.

 

I actually was about 1000 points shy and we played for a little while tonight then we quit. I wanted to reset so I got on the100.io public LFG and found a Gambit game starting at 9:30 and joined. We played about 5 matches and won each one of them (and got the Meatball in the process). So when I don't have anyone on I'll just search the100 for a public game and there is almost always one around. So I got my reset then helped them get theirs.

 

I never EVER solo queue into Gambit. EVER!

 

That's how I usually find my Trials teams if my friends aren't on. I'll check the game then go to Destiny Tracker and see if they have and completed cards. If so I'll join. If they don't I won't unless their k/d is decent.

 

Since the strike playlist today is solar singe, blackout, and brawler I thought I'd try to go for a complete run using no weapons and no deaths. Here's the result. Never fired a weapon once and ended up with the most kills lol by a longshot lol.

 

Well shit peeps I got my PS4 and am planning to do some installs this week. I scored my PS4 playstation plus on the cyber monday deal so I can start to game online. Anyway hope to get into D again since I got the forsaken bundle.

The grind up is going to be the worst part. Having to go through CoO again would suck. I’m not sure if they give you something similar to the Spark of Light like they did in D1 or not? But even if they did you’d still have to grind up your power level so you’ll have to play through the story missions. It’s not that bad as you really need to see the whole game but “I” couldn’t do it again lol. Hell... my poor titan is still sitting at 393. I just can’t get motivated to play it because I don’t want to go through the storyline of forsaken again. And I just don’t care for the titan that much.

 

Yea man I know it wont happen over night as damn the leveling happens once a week, but hey I will get there eventually although Im sure I will be an epic non factor for a good while. It is pretty sad just thinking about the leveling in the vanilla D2 as I never played any DLCs for it yet.

 

I’ve got a feeling that they are going to ruin PvP since the pinnacle weapon was made a grenade launcher. Comp is going to suck and quick play won’t be much better. Expect to see a lot of fucking Colony’s, Miltita’s Birthright’s, Fighting Lions, Play of the Game, etc.... PvP was in such a good spot but with this addition I think they have pigeon holed us into using certain weapons that “generally” require Heavy ammo. Fighting Lion (which isn’t that great) and Militia’s Birthright didn’t use heavy but were barely used. Now they are going to be the only things that anyone uses in crucible now. We’ll see how that goes I suppose?

Finally got around to getting the Wishender Bow tonight. Don't know why I put if off for so long. Doubt I'll use it for anything but clearing out the eggs but it's cool looking. The wall hack is cool but I already have that with my hunter. So... it goes into the collection I suppose.

 

Trying to figure out what I should be stocking up on for next week? I know that any bounty that you finish where you have to actually go see the quest giver you need to save in case any new weapons are in the loot pool. I guess I'll stock up on Vanguard, Crucible (if I decide to even do any if the grenade launchers are out in force), and Gambit bounties. This is going to be kind of a slow week leading up to The Black Armory next week. I like how they are rolling out updates every three months now. As good as TTK was, there was a year between TTK and RoI. Not so anymore.
I'm kind of glad that Bungie has given up on the campaign portion of the game and made it what it really is... a looter / shooter. That's all anyone really wants is the loot. If you like the story then there is plenty of lore to look at. I tend to go for byf's videos because he actually takes the time to go through them all and then put everything into context so I don't have too. His "Book of Sorrows" videos are awesome and I HIGHLY recommend watching them if you get a chance.

A lot of new weapons coming out so there is that to look forward too and from the looks of it... an actual raid. Not a raid lair which is fantastic. I'm not fond of raid lairs.

 

Oh... one more thing... The Wishbringer Shotgun from Shaxx looks to be about the best rolled shotgun out there at the moment. I highly recommend going for it. Doesn't get much better than that roll. The only shotgun that looks better is the chaperone but that requires you being pretty damn accurate with your shots.

 

Okay.... so the Wishended bow is actually a lot of fun to play around with. It won't replace my go too weapons but it's still a lot of fun. Recommend you get one.

 

Dang it! Two weeks in a row I’ve been 599. All I need is legs... but none of the powerful gear will give me my legs. Curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal Destiny...

 

Same with my WL. Won’t matter next week as the power level will go to 650
