So the subject was brought up last night how I get so many kills during Strikes, NF's, the Raid, etc... I've tried to explain that I play so aggressively that my health bar is almost always in the red. I'm on the edge of death almost all the time. It's a very fine balancing act at being at low health, knowing you can get the kill before they can, and knowing when to bug out. Playing a WL gives you the freedom to throw down a healing rift so playing a WL (IMO) is easy mode no matter the subclass you are playing. But I main a Hunter and Hunter's rely on agility for moving around the map. I never EVER stand still whether it be during PvE or PvP. I'm constantly in the air or dodging to get out of a bad situation. In Crucible you will almost always find me jumping above a door when I know someone is coming in that direction. One quick Shot Gun blast to the top of their head and they wonder what hit them because they expected me to be standing there instead of being above them. But Hunters are inherently squishy compared to other classes but they make up for that by being able to move around in ways that the other classes can't. Titans are the closest with being able to move around and if spec'd right they can move faster in one direction than a Hunter. But only in one direction. The uptime on shoulder charge takes about 2 secs to activate and as a hunter is pretty easy to avoid.

But back to regular PvE activities. When I played in D1 during TTK Raid I always used The Touch of Malice. Most of the clan switched to TToM at the Daughters but I switched at Golgoroth and kept it at 1 shot in the chamber which in turn every shot you fired did damage to you but did double damage to the enemy. I always had an explanation point above my head do to me damaging myself with the gun. Everyone was always laughing at me trying to figure out how I could survive running that gun and getting shot at. It was double damage to me all the time. But it all comes down to knowing exactly to the number of how much you can take and knowing when to bug out. So in the meta right now... it's very easy to know how much you can take.

Speaking of meta. I do not understand people playing against the meta. Hand Cannons got a huge drop off nerf and unless you are playing in Comp there is very little use for them "right now". Yes there are still some good ones out there but right now it is a fast firing Pulse Rifle, Sub Machine Gun, Sniper, Heavy Bow, and Heavy Machine Gun (especially in PvP) meta right now. Scout Rifles are in a better spot but they aren't great unless you are a god with the Jade Rabbit (which I'm not). The only standout in the Scout Rifle class is the Randy's Throwing Knife (and possibly The Black Scorpion Full Auto). Other than that? There isn't much to chose from that will get you a decent amount of kills. I spend 90% of my time in strikes running a Sub and getting up in the enemies face even if I'm surrounded. So the only advice that I can give is play aggressively if you want a shit ton of kills. If I'm playing with Blueberries they can't touch me. If I'm playing with the few people in the clan when we run the 980 NF's or the Pit we are almost always within 10 kills from each other so we all play the same way. We have been playing together for so long that we know exactly what we are going to do before the other does it. So it makes it easy.

Here is a run from my point of view. I'm in the red quite a lot in this strike but knowing when to find cover and knowing that I can get the kill before the enemy can takes practice in knowing your class.

Well since I am the one you had the discussion with about this last night, and the one in the game with you, the aggravating part is that I am very similar to how often in the red I am as well. I just dont get the kill ratio and it drives me fucking nuts.
I'll be more than happy to associate part of it to differences in weapons as you have top tier weapons, but it shouldnt matter to the extent of our ratio difference.

    Yeah.
He steals our kills, plain and simple. And sends me into danger to keep himself safe. I'm OK with that, though, that is how I play Crucible -- draw fire, expose the enemy, be as completely crazy and unpredictable as you can.

The Recluse video I sent you noted that a good rolled Subjunctive (which you have btw) is about as close to the Recluse as you can get without actually getting the Recluse. No other Sub comes close. Yet you still chose to use the Huckleberry, Cut and Run (IIRC) and a RL (or maybe the heavy bow after I asked). The only difference in the Recluse over the Subjunctive is the Recluse doesn't give a shit what kind of shield is being used by the enemy. The Subjunctive does.
Being in the red all the time doesn't mean that you are playing with your head on a swivel all the time. It just means you're getting shot. Getting shot while in the red and killing the target are two different things. As long as you know exactly how much damage you can take while in the red and killing that target before it kills you or bugging out is what makes the difference.

I wasn't pointing you out. It was just general information of how to get the most kills in a game.

Lol.... Stealing your kills. You were using the Rose and the Misfit last night on the Thorn strike. I didn't send you into danger you chose to stay there with blackout on and Thrall running at you from every direction lol. Like I mentioned in the post above... You have to stay mobile (especially during blackout). That's not an easy strike at the end and you have to shoot the balls coming at you while dealing with the Thrall. You could have moved anywhere on the map but you chose to remain stagnate so I can't help you there. At least you got your Thorn ;)

As far as kill differences go... it's like I mentioned before. It's all in how you play the game and how well you know the maps that you are playing on. When and where the enemies spawn make a huge difference also. In the video it was 2 mins before anyone joined me in the fight so it makes sense that I'm going to get a lot of kills since there is no one there but me.

As far as weapons go... If you are playing against the meta. You are not going to get the kills. It just isn't going to happen. We've had the conversation about RL's in the Crucible and I personally think that is a TERRIBLE option since you only get one rocket from a heavy pick up. A heavy Machine Gun (depending on which one you have equipped) can get as much as 58 rounds. RL's, for 99% of the game have no use. Especially ones that don't have tracking. They nerfed cluster bombs to shit so they are all but useless now. Whisper or the Bow in your heavy slot are a good choice. The only time I take the bow off is during the raid and put the Whisper on since it does as much dmg as Izanagi's Burden as long as you land all your shots and you don't have to rely on Honed Edge to Proc. It is neck and neck between those two weapons. The Bow is just a good all around alternative for taking shit down fast which is why you see me always using it in strikes because it is easy to use, loads fast, and puts out a shit ton of dmg.

Here is the video comparing all the Sub Machine Guns in the game against the Recluse. This comes from The Legend Himself Clan so they are God Tier players so I'm going to listen to what they have to say. Note at the end when he talks about the Subjunctive.

So this is for @Pchop and @TenBeers

This is what I mean by being completely aggressive with the Hunter. I made two mistakes in this run. First it was a NF and not a regular strike. The regular Strikes are Solar Singe and I wasn't paying attention when I went into the NF with two Blueberries. One of which had done at least the 100k NF. So if I was paying attention I would have gone in as a Night Stalker. The second mistake was I thought I killed the boss with my Blade Barrage but I left him with a sliver of health and wiped the team. So that was my fault. If you notice, I'm almost dead the entire time because of the aggressive play. You just have to know the balance of being able to kill or bug out.

Never the less... This is how you should play the Hunter. Even though I screwed up I ended up with double the kills of the next Blueberry. So it's not just you that I get more kills with. It is everyone that I happen to be grouped with. You complain about the score not being right but the score is the score. Whatever it says is how many kills you got and how many orbs you created. The game doesn't lie.

Okay... Vex Offensive Final Assault came out today and I've got to say it's pretty underwhelming. Unless they have more of a story line behind what Ikora has been building behind her (Vex Portal btw), there really is no substance in this story at all after all the build up. As far as the Vex Offensive is concerned it's the same thing just a different boss. There is only one new mechanic behind the final fight and it's easy to avoid. It basically brings back the flying harpies from The Eater of World Raid Lair and The Menagerie Heroic. That's it. Everything else is the same. I hope, and maybe they will, bring out a heroic version of the Vex Offensive before this season ends since it's going away after this season.

On that note... If you haven't done much of the Vex Offensive I would suggest you run it at least a few times to get random rolls on the weapons since as far as I know, they will not be able to be acquired after this season. There are a couple standout weapons but nothing major.

Anyway... here is a full run of the Vex Offensive Final Assault. As you can tell, I was just fucking around in it since it isn't any harder than the original Vex Offensive and the only thing that drops is shit you are most likely just going to break down since it doesn't drop over the base level of 950

If you take nothing else away from the video above, take away this. If you are running top tree Night Stalker you NEED to get your hands on a pair of Orpheus Rig Leg Armor. They nerfed them last year but they are still OP for running Night Stalker. As long as you know were and when to place a tether you will get your super back almost immediately. During one round I was able to throw out three tethers back to back and could have thrown a fourth if I wanted. So they are a must for almost any part of any raid or PvE activity. They have very little use in PvP though. Tether is mediocre for taking someone out of their super and there are just some supers you will not stop with a tether.
If I run Night Stalker in PvP I'll always run Spectral Blades with the Gwisin Vest to prolong the super. But 90% of the time I'm in PvP I run Blade Barrage with the Shards of Galanor. Two kills with Blade Barrage wearing the Shards will get you back almost half your super. If you get a triple kill it will give you back almost all of it. I've had matches where I was able to get off three supers (no not in Mayhem) just because of the Shards. In my opinion there isn't a better exotic to run on a hunter in PvP.

My understanding is that the portal behind icora is done, we bring it to the vex offensive now with the beacon you place at the final phase of the offensive.
Ya, pretty underwhelming but I'm Undying now!

Finally got around to getting this done. Saw someone posted a run for it on the100 LFG and said fuckit... We'll see how good they are. Got the boss and all adds down and still had 2:11 to spare so we blew through it. No one fell and only one death while flipping the switches from the robot. So these guys were pretty good. Got it on the first try.

I will say this... If you don't get down to the boss with a minimum of 7:00 mins on the clock you can pretty much forget finishing it unless you have a good group that knows exactly what to do quickly.

Now I just have to run heroic

Awesome gun, even without the catalyst. I'm at 51 percent on the catalyst now. Gotta hit the clan up to run it again sometime soon.

Lol... I knew about that quest even when I wasn't playing the game. One thing is certain... I can't carry you two through this quest ;)

It's a good gun but I won't use it mainly because it takes up an exotic slot. If you need to run it again I'll need to do the heroic version sometime. I'm not in any hurry though.
