Been having good luck with Cerberus+1. Trying to work through the stupid Iron Banner quest.

The only thing about Hard Light that I find useful (with the exception that it has zero damage fall off) is ricocheting rounds off a wall. If you hit your opponent with a ricochet round it does double damage. Which is why you see in a couple of videos that I've posted above that I'll keep firing at a wall and still get the kill.

 

I give a shit about the quest. I don't want the bow. The only thing the quest does is allow you to turn in your tokens. But the loot pool hasn't changed so the exact same weapons are dropping at lower level than you already are. And the weapon pool for IB weapons are no good. The armor drops will also be lower level and with shit stats. So the only thing that I complete are the bounties for the powerful rewards. Then I just usually infuse them into the items that I have currently as I can't get a much better setup than I have right now.

 

This week in Trials is so much fucking easier. Widow's Court is one of my favorite maps of all time. I love Anomaly but it was hard last week as people were going in and just farming the Shotgun at 3 wins and leaving and then coming back in. So the first three matches were extremely sweaty because the top tier players were just farming the shotgun. After 3 wins it got easier until the 6th match.

Now everyone is farming the Sniper and you don't get it until your 7th win and it isn't dropping in the loot pool with the tokens you turn in. So you have to be running for Flawless if you want to farm the Sniper. I've been waiting on this Sniper to finally drop and it's dropping this week. There is an issue with some people not getting rewards at 3, 5, and 7 wins, but so far for the last two weeks my account hasn't been affected by that bug (yet). It will be patched on the 31st. The way it is right now, for those accounts that are affected, you have to wait until 5:30pst on Saturday for the drops to start at 3, 5, and 7. So we went in late last night and rolled through Widow's Court since I think most are waiting until the drop reset today. Flawless was extremely easy this week.

I didn't get the exact roll on the Sniper that I wanted. I want Snapshot sights as that is almost a requirement in PvP. But, I can make it work. It "feels" like the Beloved because it's a 90rpm Sniper and this one will actually take out a Super since it has Box Breathing on it. So I'm not unhappy with it. But I'm still going to farm until I get one with Snapshot.

Fuck... If this one just had Snapshot Sights it would be a fucking God Roll.



And the Class Item finally dropped. And for the Hunter that means the Cloak. Which for the Hunter is the most important piece for how your character looks. For the Warlock is the Robe that makes you look better and the Titan is the Arms (I guess? I don't play the Titan). The Warlock bond? I could give a shit about and the Titan skirt (lol) yeah... no. But that's what they get this week.



Stats are just about where I want them now.

 

Well... I ran three account recoveries for Trials on Friday night. Luckily the drops are bugged at the moment for some so it seems that Sweats waited until Saturday night and today to play. Took me about 30 mins to run each recovery Friday night and luckily, their account wasn't affected so they got the drops and I got $150.

We went in early this morning and got our ass handed to us and we were running our regular team. Just the way it goes sometimes. I started off strong but after the eighth card reset I started to lose confidence (and so did the others on my team) so we took a break for a while. We'll come back to it tonight and see if we can get something rolling again. Only made it to three wins and then hit our first loss. So that was our first mercy. Lost the second match and decided we would go on and try to at least win five wins on the card to get the armor drop. But we lost the next two matches after that (meaning we got steamrolled).

So I figured I'd go on and finish up my last Iron Banner bounty for the powerful drop. I'll be fucked if I didn't get dropped into the middle of a match 4 out of the 5 games I played. I literally got dropped into a match right when it ended. It didn't count as a loss for me since I was dropped in late but it still sucked. 0 kills, 0 death, and 0 zones captured as I never even saw the battlefield. They have got to do something with the team balancing before dropping you into a match. One match was literally 3 against 6. Needless to say we lost. All the while, I never went negative. But it still sucks.

This was the last match and why you never go into IB or comp solo (unless you are running Freelance). We were running against a stacked team and they mercy'd us. They literally pushed into the back of the map and it appears my team didn't know how to cope with it. So I just went for the kills since I just needed a few more kills to finish the bounty.

Got out of some pretty sticky situations and killed 5 out of six of their team before they finally got me. Ended up with a 6.0 k/d which I will take considering how bad this match played out. I'm done with Iron Banner for now. Got all the powerful drops and that's all I wanted.

Well... I don't really know what to say about this season. So far it has pretty much sucked. I could give a shit about the bunkers and throwing balls at the towers. That was the reason I quit D2 when TBA came out. Then upgrading the bunkers??? Fuck that. Nothing about that appeals to me whatsoever. The weapons that come out of the bunker (as far as I can tell) suck. The mods that go along with them look pretty fun to play around with but I'm not going through the entire bunker upgrade system just to get a couple of mods that I'll never slot. So the PvE side of things this season? I have no desire to play.

Trials is fun. No doubt. But Trials is seriously flawed. The game mode itself is a lot of fun and is exactly like OG Trials. But the implementation of it is just wrong. I just don't understand how Bungie could fuck this up? There are two main issues with Trials.

1: No Adept Weapons. That just doesn't make any sense whatsoever. The main reason you wanted to go Flawless in D1 was for the Adept weapons (armor also but that was secondary). You could get a Doctrine of Passing by turning in bounties and it was great. Or... you could go Flawless and get an Adept Version of the Doctrine of Passing and it was a different color and it had an extra perk on it that you couldn't get anywhere else in the game. If they had just put (Adept) weapons in Trials when you went flawless it would have been what everyone wanted. But they didn't. The problem that Trials has at the moment, is you will run up against stacked teams (fuck... we're all stacked teams in Trials so that doesn't really apply) just farming the first three wins to get the Shotgun, resetting their card, and farming the next three wins. I did the same thing the weekend that the Shotgun was available. So it's sad when the first three games of the card are harder than the games after that since no one cares about going Flawless as there is no reward for doing so other than the Armor. The Armor looks great and drops with really high stats. So it's worth it. But it just isn't appealing enough to go Flawless once you get an entire Armor set.

2: The token system. IT FUCKING SUCKS BALLS. I can't stress how stupid the token system is. And it's fucking stupid for so many reasons.

• If you only win 3 matches during one week of Trials and that is all you ever win. Whenever you turn in your tokens the only thing in your loot pool that will ever drop is what you got to drop during the first time you won 3 matches. And if you never win another 3 matches in Trials? That is the only item available to you. EVER!
• If you go Flawless each weekend (which I have so far). Then if you are searching for that god roll Sniper (lets be honest... that's the only good weapon out of Trials) then your loot pool is so fucking polluted with all the other items that you have gotten from 3, 5, & 7 wins that the prospect of actually getting the Sniper to drop with the perks you want are close to zero. There is no middle ground. The Winged Word was arguable the best PvP sniper in D1. It came with a fixed roll and that is the one you were chasing. Once you got it... it was amazing. Good luck getting the sniper you want now.
• The weapons they have put in the loot pool for Trials SUCK. The only standouts are the Sniper (if you are lucky enough to get Snapshot and Opening Shot) and the Auto Rifle (which I have a God Rolled one). The only issue with the Auto Rifle is, as long as Hard Light and Suros are in the game in their current state? The Summoner can't compete with those two weapons (ask me how I know?). This week... It's the fucking Fusion Rifle. It's an energy Fusion Rifle and 1: it sucks 2: it's an energy Fusion Rifle and who would ever replace the Hard Light with that Fusion Rifle?

So... They really need to make the adjustments to Trials to bring it back to where it was in D1. I just don't know how they continually fuck this shit up??? Bring back original Trials. That is what we have been asking for for well over three years. IT'S FUCKING SIMPLE!!!

The Armor is great. I will give them that. It looks great and it has some of the best stats in the game.

The Goddamn useless Fusion Rifle with shitty fucking rolls. What's worse... it is now in my loot pool for when I farm tokens in Trials. I want the Sniper... I'll get the fucking Fusion Rifle, another chest piece, another Auto Rifle, another helmet, another shotgun, etc...



At least with the new Armor... my stats and mods are perfect for this meta. And I will be able to change them in the future when the meta changes. So that's nice. And it looks cool as shit. I'll give them credit for that.

You should see the PC issues with all the hackers in Trials. Most of the streamers that have migrated to PC are moving back to Console because of the anti hack / cheating system they have in place isn't working.

So one of the guys that I play Trials with and the one person that I have been playing with the longest time in both D1 & D2, 2 manned the Dungeon (like we do every week).

The video is 22 mins long but it's pretty damn funny and chaotic (besides... what else do you have to do while we're all locked up inside?). He rezzed me while I was switching subclasses thinking we were going to start the encounter after I pulled him through. He had different ideas lol. So it turned into a case of blunders that was both funny and well played. Wait until 6:44 to see how chaotic it gets. 2 manning is hard enough. 2 manning while switching subclasses while on the fly and not catching a Raid Banner? Lol... even harder.

For those that haven't tried the Dungeon, it's pretty chaotic with 3 people. Much more chaotic with 2, and MUCH more chaotic when you start the shit without even trying.

Okay... so this dude was too nice not to help out last night. I was in the tower deleting shit in my vault (finally) and I get a message from this dude asking for help in Trials. Most people just ask for a carry. I generally don't respond to those messages unless they keep on. Then I'll name a price and they'll either get pissed or pay it. Generally it's the first with people that you just run across.

But if you actually want to run with someone, this is how you ask. This guy was too nice not to help out.






Way too under leveled to be going into trials. 978 and 985 base power between them. It's not insurmountable to overcome but you really have to be skilled to overcome the power level disadvantage they were under. Got them to three wins so they were able to turn in their tokens and get the Fusion Rifle. They were pretty good and one of the dudes had a hell of a play where he shut down three supers with his. I told him to clip that shit and put it on YouTube lol. It was pretty epic. There was little chance of going Flawless but at least they got three wins so they could turn in the bounties and collect something from Trials.

So they were really cool and made a couple new friends in the game.

 

After playing Trials last night with the two dudes ^^above^^ and playing PvP almost all day (what else is there to do right now?), @Pchop and I played a couple matches. Motherfucker doesn't get on until 2 am so fuck that. But I played a couple anyway. Still makes zero sense using a Hand Cannon and Hard Light but he's to fucking hard headed to change. Inspected him on the fly in and sure enough... Whatever... I give up

2am and I couldn't even focus on what weapons the other team was using I was so fucking sleepy. Took me half the match to figure out that the dude on the other team wasn't using an Arbalest but was using a Wishender. So what do I know lol? At 2am I was lucky to see the screen.

Anyway... This is from The Legend Himself (Slayerage). This is one of the guys that duoed the entire VoG on HM in D1 and they have done shit that was damn near impossible. I'll listen to his opinion of the game. He sums it up perfectly. Trials... in this state will die. I just don't understand why they just didn't port OG Trials over. That's all anyone wanted but they fucked it up again. How they can keep on making the same mistakes is beyond me?

I still enjoy Trials and will play every weekend. But as more and more players drop out (which they will), there will eventually be no incentive for playing.

Yeah, he nailed it. I'll still play it because I really do like the game mode. It's kind of like a condensed version of an entire season of Comp in an hour or so of high skill players. The gameplay is fun as hell so they nailed that portion. It's exactly like D1 Trials in that aspect. But the issue is, like I brought up earlier (and he did also), is the more you go Flawless the more it dilutes your loot pool. So the chances of me getting the exact roll on the Sniper I would like are close to zero at this time since my loot pool is so diluted with other shit. I just don't understand how they didn't see that this would become an issue. That and the three win and reset your card to farm the Shotgun (which I'm guilty of) the week it was available.

D1 Trials you knew exactly what you were going to get and even if you didn't go Flawless you hadn't wasted your time because the bounties would drop Armor and Weapons. Sure, the weapons weren't Adept weapons but that made very little difference. The only real reason for Adept weapons was more of a status symbol because of the different color (believe it or not, that makes a difference. Especially to me) that you went Flawless and it added one extra perk you couldn't get anywhere else in the game. Now... NO weapons drop from the Flawless chest. The Armor is great no doubt. Awesome stats, looks better than any Armor in the game, and if you have it, it's the only way that people know you actually went Flawless (besides the emblem). But as people finish up all their Armor sets, there will be no reason to go back in and play unless you just really like to play with the best players in the game. I'll still play it because I enjoy the game mode. But there is little incentive to actually go in for 99% of the player population. So I don't blame people that say fuckit...

It's supposed to be the hardest game mode in the game and I have no issue with that. But I do have an issue that a person that is proficient at PvP can't go in and at the very least complete some bounties and get some loot. It just makes no sense the direction they took with Trials rewards.

 

Okay... So I've got two of the three weapons I want out of Trials. Now if I can just get the Sniper with Snapshot Sights, Moving Target (since Quickdraw isn't available), with a Handling Masterwork I'll be set.

Damn near a God Roll on the Shotgun

Rifled Barrel, Assault Mag (for faster shots), Slideshot (one of the best perks on a Shotgun), and Swashbuckler. Swashbuckler is fine and I'm happy with it. Melee Kills stack +5x's damage which is stupid and Shotgun kills stack +1x's per each kill up to +5x's. So a kill with smoke or any melee will add +5x's damage which isn't a bad perk. The only thing missing is Handling Masterwork. This one has Stability which is fine. Slideshot is what I was looking for most and is the most important perk since range on all aggressive Shotguns caps out at 8 meters for a one shot kill. Rifled Barrel takes away some of the RNG. I could run Smoothbore but that bumps up RNG to stupid levels.

 

Now that Trials is a thing (and it isn't going anywhere despite the flaws), people are already calling for a nerf to the Revoker Sniper because of Reversal of Fortune



Fuck you... I worked my ass off for this Sniper. It took me almost as long to get the Revoker as the Not Forgotten. I'm sick of people calling for nerfs on Pinnacle weapons. They nerfed the shit out of Not Forgotten. So bad in fact, that my God Rolled Spare Rations is actually better. Magnificent Howl only procs for 3 secs now and the odds of finding someone after a one 1v1 dual while it is proc'd is almost nonexistent. But the worst nerf was taking it from a 180 rpm down to a 150 rpm. The Not Forgotten (and Luna's Howl by proxy) are not easy to get. But the Not Forgotten is especially not easy to get. Same thing with the Revoker. It is pretty fucking hard to get.

I get it... people don't like the idea of regenerating ammo on a missed shot because of Reversal of Fortune. It allows you to take shots you wouldn't normally take because you aren't penalized for missing the shot as long as you don't spam the next shot. There is a reason the Revoker is the most used Sniper in Trials. 1: Because it is the BEST Sniper for Trials on console. 2: Most of the people that have it? Actually worked for the motherfucker and are probably pretty fucking proficient with a Sniper in Crucible.

I actually prefer my Beloved over the Revoker, but Hand Cannons are not an option right now on console in Trials or in Crucible in general. And there is no Primary Auto Rifle that will compete with the Hard Light or the Suros.

The same issue was in D1 Trials so they removed the special ammo crates and put them on a timer instead of spawning in with 2 rounds for your sniper. So what happened next? People switched to Wormwood and IceBreaker. Wormwood because it was the best Sidearm in the game and you spawned in with 36 rounds and the IceBreaker to get past the ammo crate situation because it CONSTANTLY regenerated ammo. Thing is... You didn't even have to work for those weapons. Xur sold IceBreaker relatively often. And Wormwood could be acquired through faction vendors or randomly.

Nerfs aren't the answer. People will just shift the meta and find something that will break the way Crucible is played. Right now... if you aren't using Hard Light on console? You'd be stupid not to. Hard Light isn't game breaking but it's no fun to use as it is a completely no skill weapon. Pre fire before rounding a corner and keep on firing to bounce the bullets off the wall. It looks like fucking laser tag in Crucible right now. Hand Cannons require decent skill. Scout Rifles require skill. Pulse Rifles require some skill. Auto Rifles require no skill.

So everyone calling for nerfs on the hardest weapons to get in the game? Fuck off.
