Controller on PC would most definitely be a hinderance. But that is the least of your worries when playing PvP on PC. Especially in Comp or Trials. The hackers and cheaters plaguing the PC space right now is stupid. Just look at youtube Trials hacking and you will see hundreds of videos of people being hacked or cheating. There is absolutely no way I'd play Destiny on PC.

It would take me a little while to get used to mouse and keyboard but there is no doubt that M&K is by far a better input device than a controller. Having zero recoil on almost every weapon is a huge benefit. The only thing is... the player you are going against have zero recoil also. I'll stick to console where there is no available cheat codes being sold and they have fixed the lag switching. I've not seen anyone lag in PvP since I came back in Sept. of last year.

 

I used to suck at FPS games with mouse and keyboard. Used D2 as an excuse to 'git gud' because I enjoyed the game and the PvE is decent enough practice. I recommend ditching the controller, it's definitely a disadvantage against mouse and keyboard.

 

Meh. I have both Suros and Monte Carlo. I’m good. I actually like the Suros better.

I'm sure every PC game has hackers if its a popular enough game. I personally dont understand it though. Why bother playing the game if you have to cheat, where the fuck is the fun in that.

 

Luckily all I played on PC was MMO's so there was no need to hack or cheat. The only thing that got on my nerves was Gold Sellers spamming "General Chat" with prices for in game gold. There was a entire industry of people over in China that would play hours on end to farm for gold and then create a site where you could go to and buy in game gold and then turn around and buy in game items from the auction houses. That was what was so prevalent during my 10 yrs or so playing MMO's. Other than that, there wasn't really a need for cheating in those types of games.

I do miss playing the auction house though. That was a game inside of a game.

 

The real money auction house at the beginning of Diablo 3 was a shit show, I don't know if you ever saw it. That was such a crazy idea lol. I saw people buying and selling legendary items for hundreds of dollars.

So I played a lot of PvP last night. Started off with the Hard Light and I think they did a good job of bringing back in line with other weapons. They did the exact adjustments to it that I said needed to be done to it and it's still a great, viable Auto Rifle. But now other Auto Rifles can compete. Switched to the best Summoner Auto Rifle I've gotten out of Trials and it did equally well. Switched to the Monte Carlo and that gun is a beast. I like the perks on it and the chance of getting your melee back (which means smoke for me) upon a kill. Just an all around good Auto Rifle. But IMO... the one that shreds right now is the Suros. That thing is a fucking beast. It is the perfect combination of a fast ttk but it has a shallow magazine so you have to pick your engagements carefully especially once you get into the "Spinning Up" phase of the gun. I played about 7 matches with it last night and took the catalyst from 33 to 196. So I'll have the catalyst done tonight.

Suros Catalyst is done. Didn't take very long. Probably 15-20 games at most. If I wouldn't have been sniping half the time it would have gone faster. Pretty sweaty tonight but the only time I wasn't on top of the leader board was when we got dropped into a match in progress with only 5 on our team. The other team was a full stack and they stomped the living shit out of us but still came out with a +2.0 k/d (think I was the only one that went positive)

Got a message after the match figuring one on the other team was going to talk shit since I was in full Flawless Armor with the Title. But this is what I got. I get this every other month of so.



Pretty cool of him to message me. I always try to message the other team in Trials whether we win or lose if it's a close game with a "GG".

Suros with a completed catalyst is awesome. I took it in and ran my personal Trials card on it with no issues. There were still people using Hard Light in there but it wasn't anything like it has been. Took 4 other accounts in and had to use Hard Light. It's still a good / viable weapon. But it isn't the standout like it once was. It still competes well in this sandbox though. So if you don't have a Suros with a catalyst you should be fine with a Hard Light in Crucible.

Went in and fucked around with it tonight.

Been a while since anyone has posted here. Since this season ends in 20 days I figured I'd make my own little review of the season. IT SUCKED... The end.

Honestly, I don't know if it sucked or not? I do know that I didn't play any PvE content at all other than what was required to get the pinnacle rewards. I only completed the Seraph Tower public event 3 times to completion and that was enough for me. I never even touched the bunker upgrades as it just didn't interest me in the least. If you asked me how to upgrade them? I couldn't tell you. The PvE side of things this season just didn't interest me at all and I feel sorry for those that only really play PvE content because it was sorely lacking. Hell... I didn't even play GoS for the pinnacle rewards as I would organically get to 1010 base power level just by playing. Grandmaster NF's were supposed to be a thing but for the time and effort invested? I could run 3 Master NF's and come out with more loot. So why bother other than if you want to sit back and plink away at targets from behind cover? Just seems boring to me.

The only saving grace for this season has been PvP. Trials more specifically. And although Trials has its issues (especially on PC with cheaters) it's still the original Trials from D1 from a gameplay perspective. The loot system sucks. The way they implemented the token system and dilution of your loot pool for doing the very thing you are supposed to be doing. Going Flawless? It actually takes away the incentive for actually going Flawless because it dilutes your loot pool to a point that you will most likely not ever get the specific roll on a weapon you want. That said... They are revamping the way loot works in Trials for next season and bringing back Adept Weapons. Why they didn't just port OG Trials from D1 over to D2 is beyond me? That's all anyone that plays Trials wanted. A simple port.

Besides that, PvP is the only thing that I do in the game now since I've reached 1010 base power. @Pchop Rob and I play almost every single night and I've got to say that for someone that I couldn't get to step foot into PvP? Now I can't get him out lol. And throughout this season he has stepped up his game like crazy. I fuck with him quite often but in reality, he's put a shit ton of effort into it and has gotten 100% better.

I was sitting at a little over 3600 in Comp for this season and finally decided to go for 5500 on Monday. Took me 2 days to go from 3600 to 5500. So one more season and I'll end up with the "Unbroken" title. Other than the "Flawless" title, those are the hardest titles to get in the game. Not sure which title I'll rock honestly? Unbroken is hard but the Flawless title requires more out of you.

My stats for this season. I spend most of my time in Comp with a top 1.4% in Survival and a top 0.6% in Trials. The rest is just fucking around in 6v6.

My go to load out for anything PvP. Nightstalker is an unorthodox subclass to play in Comp so I'm not sure if that throws people off because they are expecting a roaming super or not. But it works for me personally



Since the change to Hard Light, usage of that weapon has gone down significantly. I agree with the adjustments because that gun was stupid overpowered. It is still viable but the adjustment allowed for other weapons to compete. So there is one thing they did correctly. So I almost exclusively use the Suros now. I don't like Auto Rifles but... if you want to compete, you have to. Especially at the higher levels. Since the adjustment to Hard Light I've got 2736 kills and every one of those kills have been in Crucible since that's the only way you can Masterwork it.



One thing that I am not happy about at all is Bungie "sunsetting" weapons. I farmed for this Beloved for over a month and it has been my go to Sniper ever since (along with one that has the same rolls with the exception of a Range Masterwork). After next season I'll no longer be able to infuse it up to max level. I fucking hate that idea.



The only decent Sniper I've gotten out of Trials so far. If it had a Handling Masterwork on it, it would be just about perfect. This is probably as good as I'll get.



And to finish this off... @Pchop Rob and I fucking around in Control last night. I obviously didn't play the objective and just went headhunting.
