It takes a little while to be able to open up the nodes that Variks has but once you open up "Europan Explorer II" you will be able to select the difficulty of Empire Hunts. Little spoiler.... It DOES NOT matter what difficulty you run it on to get the sniper. There doesn't seem to be a higher drop chance on higher level difficulties. It says "rare" on all difficulties. I ran it a few times on master and it just ends up taking a long time to run it. If you run it on Adept you can run it in 5 mins. It took me a little over an hour to get it to drop. Me and another blueberry got it at the same time. So it will drop on any difficulty and it doesn't seem to matter which one.

 

I just got to the part where you get to configure the sub class, so plenty far to go. Good thing I checked here before starting so I didn't waste time trying to upgrade old armor or weapons.

Misfit was the shit, but sadly, no more.

BTW... Ace of Spades is fucking awesome now. It (along with all 140 and 110 Hand Cannons got a range buff) so that should make you happy. That's about all I've been using it's so good now.

 

I'll have to pull that out of the vault. I got a new one as a drop that I've been using, can't remember the name other than it is a Suros energy weapon that runs on primary ammo.

I went through and cleaned out all the old stuff last night, glad I am a hoarder -- got plenty of upgrade materials. Sitting at 1205, let the slow grind begin.

 

If I'm not using Ace of Spades I'm using Dire Promise. The only issue with Ace of Spades is it's an exotic so I can't use the new sniper or sword. I haven't found a good replacement for the primary slot. Ace of Spades is probably the best Hand Cannon right now due to the increase in range.

So I finally got all the new exotics available at the moment. Most of the exotics are available through a quest chain such as leveling up Variks etc... But two unique exotics are only obtainable through doing specific Heroic Lost Sectors that change each day. I'm not sure what the exotics are for the WL and Titan, but I think they are the same as the Hunter. Exotic Gauntlets and an Exotic Helmet. These exotics only come up on random days so you might have to wait to try to get them.

Here is the video of the Heroic Lost Sector for the Mask of Bakris Helmet. At the first of the video I show exactly how I have my character set up with the weapons, mods, and grenades to use from the Artifact. The weapon load out will change depending on the shields that you will face depending on the Lost Sector but that's it. It's still an Auto Rifle and Sub Machine Gun. If you have Anarchy, it makes it so much easier. You have 15 mins to clear the Lost Sector and three lives. You gain a life with each Champion you kill. Even at 1264 everything in there will still one shot you. So it's a challenge so you just have to play it safe.

Took me two runs to get the Mask of Bakris so I got really lucky with the RNG drop.

The Mask of Bakris is stupid OP in Crucible. It removes the Hunter dodge and replaces it with a teleport that slows enemies that you teleport by. There is a downside to it though as it has an extra cool down as opposed to just running Gamblers Dodge which I can spam every 25 secs. There is a 10 sec. cool down before the recharge starts back to get your dodge (teleport) back. So it raises it to 35 secs.

The Athrys's Embrace Gauntlets are for bottom tree Gunslinger. They allow your weighted knife throw to bounce off of two walls and also have stupid tracking. If you land precision hits with your weapons, it starts a timer that goes upwards of 30 seconds. As long as the timer is active the weighted knife throw is a one hit kill and will also take a Guardian out of their super with one hit.



So... I've got all the Exotics in the game now. Just need to run the raid for some of the weapons that come from it. And I'm ready for Trials to come back for the Adept weapons. But it doesn't appear that Trials is going to come back until the 18th at the earliest.

 

Hawkmoon is back. Though it's not the same as it was in D1 it's still back. It has a hidden perk that isn't active yet so I'm kind of curious about that once it starts dropping in the world drops. The quest is long but really good.

 

Just a random IB game. Still getting used to Hawkmoon. My dumb ass can't remember to not reload after a kill so I can build up stacks of Paracausal Shot since I'm a constant reloader after every kill. So it will take me a while to get that in my brain. But it's a beast.

Thought i could hang in iron banner at 1224... Nope! I did okay yesterday.. but today has been a different story..

Guess it's back to the grind..

 

1224 going against 1250 + players is a recipe for disaster. I could have one shot you with the Hawkmoon. If you are going in solo (which I don't recommend at your level), go into IB Freelance. At the very least you won't be playing a full stack.

 

That's what i was doing.. and yeah, i did get 1 shot a time or two. Finished 2 bounties and got 2 pinnacles out of it.

 

Trials is back!!!! And along with Trials... Adept Weapons!

That said... I'm not really impressed with the way they have implemented Adept Weapons into the Flawless run. In D1 Adept Weapons were static rolled with rolls you could only get if you went flawless. The same kind of holds true here but they are not static rolls but they do drop with mods that you can not get anywhere else in the game and can only be applied to Adept Weapons. So in a way that's cool. But if you get a shitty roll on an Adept Weapon then it doesn't really make it that great.

Luckily I got a good one. Ricochet Rounds, Moving Target, and Elemental Capacitor (which is perfect if I'm running Void Class). The Adept Mod greatly increases the target acquisition and you can only get this mod by going flawless.

Oh... and you can only get this color scheme on Adept Weapons and can only apply this shader to an Adept weapon.

 

Anyone wanna grind some crucible and/or gambit with me to get hawkmoon?

Are you on the part where you either need to kill champions or guardians? If so I can help you. But killing the champions is a lot faster if you want it to go faster. Each guardian you kill in crucible is .5% IIRC where each champion is around 10%.

 

PS5 came in yesterday after trying for two months to get it. It is unreal. Now I see why everyone switched over to PC due to the higher FPS and FOV slider. It is a totally different game. Fuck... It's not even close to the same game. It looks amazing and 60fps in PvE and 120fps in PvP will burn your eyes out (in a good way).

I made the jump from console to PC some 2 1/2 years ago now. Went straight from 1080p 60hz to 1080p 240hz and I never wanted to go back after that. I'm stoked that console is now getting a very similar experience.

 

I can see why you would have. Now I'm just waiting on the HDMI 2.1 monitors to come out to take full advantage of what the console can put out.

 

So the main reason I wanted the PS5 is specifically for the 120fps in PvP and the FOV slider. It looks like a completely different game now. But I have one issue. I've always played with a specialized controller and now those controllers aren't compatible with the PS5. So I'm having to relearn how to play with a standard controller since there are not any 3 party controllers out there for the PS5.

This is what I have played with for the last year. Astro C40. Probably the best controller I've ever played with. Face buttons mapped to the underside of the controller so I never have to take my thumbs off of the thumb sticks. That makes all the difference in the world in a hyper competitive game mode. It also has adjustable trigger stops and you can program the stick movement individually with the software that is supplied with the controller.

This is the PS5 controller. And although it is an awesome controller with haptic feedback, I am having to retrain my brain how to play with a normal controller without the buttons on the bottom.





Considering I make a shit ton of money off of playing the game each weekend I have 3 more days to really get good with this and relearn how to play with a normal controller. It's just difficult to relearn something after you have done it a different way for so long. Not complaining... Just need to get it done.

That said... I'll take 29 kills and a 5.8kd. It's unreal how good 120fps looks and an FOV slider set to 105
