@RearViewMirror - Have you run the Dead Man's catalyst mission yet? Would you be willing to run it with me some time?

 

We tried once last night but didn’t have anything set up right. Made it to the end but ran out of time. We just “winged” it and went in with all the wrong weapons. We’ll probably do it tonight since I think it’s bugged right now. There are supposed to be all three types of champions in it but they aren’t there for some reason?

I don’t mind helping. I’m sure we can get one more. I think you can get two weapons per week on each character. We ran it regular and I got an “Outlaw” roll so it’s meh...

 

I saw someone on youtube run Witherhoard and Warmind cells and it seemed to work pretty good. Stasis helped me get through the regular.. I'm not even gonna try and solo the catalyst mission.

 

Nah... I wouldn’t even attempt trying to solo the master version of that. I think it gives you 25 mins to complete the entire mission and we went in with all the wrong shit and still got the boss down below half. But you have to have all three elements covered (which we didn’t). The fucking suicidal scorn are assholes lol.

 

Plus I I think it’s a 1320 mission IIRC? And one on our team isn’t even 1300 yet

 

So my first run through, I died in the room right after the trash compactor.. the one with all the scorn charging at you with void shields and fireballs.... non-rez area. It restarted me at the trash compactor.. with all the scorn charging at me as soon as I pulled the lever... with no-rez still activated.

I died so many times at that stupid trash compactor.. they'd charge.. I'd jump.. *boom* Guardian down.

 

The catalyst run may be at 1320. If it is, I'm screwed until I level up some more.

 

Just checked and the catalyst run is 1320. I'm sitting at 1314 and I was the highest level in our group. We still made it to the boss and we didn't have any of the elements that were needed at times.

We did find out last night once you get to the trash compactor, if you shoot out all the grates and fuses it will open back up and not close in on you. Didn't know that last week and we just kind of stumbled across it last night because we were shooting the fucking scorn along with the grates.

 

We made it to the boss with 7+ on the clock. Had the loadouts but not the DPS. Only 2 of us were 1300, one being 1320.
Boss is a tank. Plus the room mechanics. Anarchy and get out x3

 

Anarchy is the play on the final boss. Easily a 2 phase fight with anarchy

Finally got around to getting the catalyst to the Dead Man's Tale last night. Really isn't too hard once you know your way through the ship. We ended up with almost 7 mins to kill the boss so we had plenty of time. Went into the Shattered Throne Dungeon and got the catalyst completed in about 20mins since all the thrall run at you constantly. We all went to different areas where the thrall spawn so we wouldn't be stealing each others kills. Then went on to finish the Shattered Throne for shit's and giggles.

The catalyst really turns this gun into something. It's like a hipfire Scout Rifle version of The Last Word and hits like a truck.

This is the one I got last week. Not a very good roll but I'll run it again today to get (hopefully) a better roll. Outlaw isn't bad and it does reload extremely fast on a slow loading gun. But there are better rolls out there.

 

Yea, this gun on PC would be even more deadly.
Best gun to hit destiny in a while

 

Played a couple of Private matches last night and we are all 5500 players. They were both using The Dead Man's Tale and I was using the Igneous Hammer Hand Cannon. Dead Man's Tale is a good gun but I had no trouble countering it with a Sniper and Hand Cannon. It's fun to use, but I would hardly say it's the best. But, you just have to know what you are going up against and play accordingly. With maxed out range on the Igneous Hammer it will reach out and touch people at 40 meters no problem. It's an easy 3 tap with a stupid TTK. Dead Man's Tale is also an easy 2 tap "if" you can land both crits along with the perk active. But I didn't have any issue challenging it.

 

If you haven't already... Farm the NF this week as it is dropping 4X's loot. We farmed it for a while last night and I ended up with 5 Shadow Price Auto Rifles and a shit ton of exotics and materials. Riskrunner is your friend in this nightfall since everything shooting at you is arc.

 

Played more private matches last night and I broke out the Dead Man's Tale. I'm not impressed at all in a PvP situation. I can make it work but with 120 Hand Cannons reaching out as far as they do now and the damage they do? There is no reason to ever put on this gun. It's not bad, but it is nowhere as good as a good 120 Hand Cannon in almost every situation. It's a cool gun to play around with but other than that? I'll destroy anyone using it with a 120.

Unless there is a new story beat today like last week... There really isn't much to do in the game right now. We've gone from 1v1 to 2v2 private matches each night. Hoping we can start playing 3v3 each night. The more the merrier.

Unfortunately only two of our mics were being shared. So you can't hear the entire conversation.

120 RPM Hand Cannons are king right now. This is a perfect map that has just long enough sight lines but a little out of the range of Hawkmoon.

You play on PS, 120s are king and i wont deny it. I was saying in my opinion DMT is the best most original gun to come out in awhile. With the right roll and time i think a PC user would shred.
But yes, once you proc rampage on a 120, you can carry that 2 tap rage as long as you hit your shots. On a PC, kinda hard not to.

Console its still slow and until 120s get a range debuff they will remain king.
