The thing I don't get is there are PvP F2P games that aren't as plagued with cheating like that so it's gotta be something that they're not getting right... I totally get that as why you'd avoid it though. The article I read on the crossplay said "With Crossplay, you’ll be able to play with all your friends no matter what platform you call home. And don’t worry, we won’t be matching console and PC players together in the Crucible unless PC players specifically invite their console friends to play with them in the PC Crucible pools." Made it sound like you could crossplay Raids/Strikes without having to get matched up in PvP... Dropping back in FPS definitely blows. Been playing 120+ for a while and anything less than that is super noticeable and awful. Couldn't imagine dropping all the way to 30 lol

 

I very occasionally play on Stadia with my team from work, which I believe is basically the PC version. We will sometimes do a Friday afternoon "D2 Initiative" as a team-building activity. Nobody is a hardcore player, though.

I did that Stadia deal where they offered Cyberpunk for $49 and you get a free Stadia controller and Chromecast Ultra (or whatever they call the newest version). I gotta say, I am impressed with its performance, at least on Destiny (Cyberpunk is a shit show regardless of where you play it). At times, the radar goes blocky, and it takes a couple minutes for the stream to stabilize, but it looks and plays pretty well. Plus, I can plug my PS5 headset into the controller for audio and chat, don't even have to turn it on. Cyberpunk had way too much input lag, but that may be because I hadn't figured out to set my TV to Game Mode -- otherwise it turns on motion smoothing and input lag can be over 100ms, which basically makes most games unplayable. Trying to steer that damn twitchy car in Cyberpunk was a joke.

 

I almost got Stadia for some casual games last year but it doesn't work with GoogleTV yet so I passed on it..

 

I couldn't tell you why they are having so much trouble with cheating on PC. I know as soon as they went with the Free to Play model it ruined D2 (at least on PC). But as you mention, there are other F2P games out there that don't seem to be plagued as much with cheating as D2. So I dunno?

As far as Stadia goes? Never found a reason to buy one. Since the only game I really play is D2 I figured I'd never play it on Stadia due to whatever small amount of input lag might be present. I've got a dedicated gaming setup and my PS5 controller is plugged in so there is no input lag from the controller. There is a setting on the PS5 that turns off wireless and if you unplug the controller it disconnects from the console. It's a setting that makes sure there is zero input lag at all. Since about all I play is PvP... I don't want to blame it on anything other than if I just got beat by a better player. That way I can't make an excuse for anything other than I just got outplayed.

Lol... I used to get bent pretty often. But now that I’ve crossed that line from being mediocre to good? If I get outplayed? Good on them. We played a match last night and it was the first match of the night. We got curb stomped. None of us got tilted and it said that it was breaking up the matches to find a better match. Well... it didn’t do a very good job of breaking them up because we matched them again and curb stomped their ass. As long as you don’t get tilted and realize what you could have done better, it works in the long run.

Only lost two matches last night.

 

Nice. I miss getting a full team together and going pubstomping in Iron Banana.

 

We generally play elimination. One of the guys on our team hates sixes. So we lost that match at the end. I much prefer 3v3 also but I don’t mind sixes. Since elimination is just like trials that’s what I like to stick with since I play trials each weekend. End up running into the same people that I play trials against during the week in elimination so it’s kind of cool that they are doing the same thing also

 

I just pub it and am happy if I don't get bottom score. Goals.

So this rarely happens. Just fucking around running some strikes after playing PvP and Trials for a change of pace and got grouped with a couple dudes that didn't run or help in the strikes.

First one was Broodhold and I just pulled them forward since they were just fucking around in at the first of the strike. They got pulled forward in the middle part of the strike but I made sure that they would not be able to enter the room at the very end so they couldn't loot the chest. So they were stuck up top watching me complete the strike and they'll have to wait until they go to the postmaster to pick there shit up.

Granted I don't fuck around in strikes. I burn through them. But these guys didn't even enter the strikes. On a side note... Riskrunner is by far one of the best Strike running weapons. There is always something that is shooting arc at you at some time or another. If a Thrall melees you it's arc damage so you never have to reload on some strikes and just hold the trigger down. It's also damn good in PvP

...How do you counter Felwinters Lie?

I played a few rounds a crucible last night.. ran Actium War Rig and Sweet Business to have fun. But I kept running into people with Felwinters Lie.. and it was getting slightly infuriating.

 

How to counter Felwinters? Use a Flewinter's lol.

All kidding aside, Felwinters, although a great (if not the best) shotgun, really isn't that hard to counter. It really depends on your playstyle. There are plenty of other shotguns that you can use with the right rolls and Felwinters is getting a nerf with the Quickdraw perk. Although... that nerf isn't going to curb the use of shotgun usage at all. It just takes away the +100 in handling after switching to that weapon. It's still going to be just as potent as it was before in the right hands.

Here's my advice and what I do if I want to counter a shotgun rusher (from a Hunter's point of view). First... If I see one coming my way (it usually isn't very hard to tell) I'll shadestep and slow them with the Stasis hit taken from using the right Artifact from Stasis. That, will lower their ability to use the weapon as it slows everything down for them and usually points thier weapon where they don't want it pointed. Second...use a Submachine Gun. About the only time I use Felwinters (or Astral Horizon) is during Trials but I'm hardly a Shotgun rusher unless it's to collapse on the other team once we get that first pick. But since Submachine Guns got a buff with the reduction in screen shake and stability. In sixes? I'll quite often use the Igneous Hammer with my god rolled Escape Velocity. If I'm not running Igneous Hammer in the special slot then I'll either run The Messenger Pulse Rifle / Steady Hand Hand Cannon with an Ikelos Submachine Gun. A shotgun rusher can't get close enough to you if you are using a Sub. Of course you have to know they are coming.

My third and final piece of advice??? Learn to snipe. I snipe much more than I ever use a Shotgun or Sub. But sniping takes a lot of practice and patience. It's a skill that is learned over time. But if you go up against someone that can snipe? A shotgun is a useless tool. In Crucible I'm almost always sniping with a Hand Cannon to back it up. In Trials I usually end up being the dedicated sniper to get the first pick unless it's an extremely small map.

One final thought... Unless you were just fuckig around in Crucible with the Sweet Business? Don't ever take that gun in there. That is one of the easiest guns to counter in the game. Sure, it puts out a lot of rounds but EVERYONE on the map can hear you and EVERYONE will know exactly where you are. There is a reason why you never see Sweet Business in Crucible. It sucks lol.

 

Lol.. that's literally what I was doing.. just f*cking around.. surprisingly, most of my success in crucible has been with scout rifles or hand cannons.. although the Shadow Price I recently got has been doing pretty well also..

What am I looking for in a PVP Sniper? Save for 1 or 2.. most of my sniper rolls just aren't that great (according to light.gg).

 

First I'll comment on the Titan (which I don't play btw). Most people seem to think that Hunters are the fastest class at getting around a map. But I'd argue that Titans are much faster from point "A" to point "B". Where the difference comes in is the Hunters ability to evade and the tricks up their sleeve to get out of sticky situations. I know you were fucking around with Sweet Business but you took all of your mobility away because of the spinup that is required of Sweet Business. Then you can only walk while laining and throwing bullets downrange. Super easy to counter and you become a prime target for a Shotgun rusher. But I honestly think that Titans (depending own what subclass they are running) are the fastest class in the game.

As far as the snipers you posted... Yeah, none of those are PvP snipers. The most valuable traits you can get on a sniper is Snapshot Sights with Opening Shot (maybe Vorpal Weapon for shutting down a super). Being able to zoom in and out to check the radar if you are laining is key. Quickdraw is also great but that can also roll on whatever primary you are using. So you don't have to have Quickdraw on a Sniper if you are using Quickdraw on your primary. The thing with Quickdraw is, it works both ways as long as you have it on one of your weapons so you don't have to double up on Quickdraw. If you should happen to get Accurized Rounds on a god rolled sniper even better. But it's not a game changer. Snapshot Sights and Opening Shot is what you're looking for. I use a sniper like a primary weapon.

This is the Sniper I use most often combined with Igneous Hammer. I've had it about a month and have racked up over 300 kills with it.



If I'm using a Sniper in the secondary slot? It will almost always be the Adored set up with the perks like they are for Crucible.



Long Shadow isn't a bad Sniper but I see very little usage of it in PvP. I've gotten some good rolls of that Sniper but I just don't like how it feels. The Ikelos is a good Sniper but the issue with it is, it's a 140 RPM Rapid Fire Frame Sniper and will not two tap a Guardian in Crucible no matter their Resilience. So you better land that headshot. Now... The Frozen Orbit... If you can get a god roll on it, it will do some serious damage since it's an Aggressive Frame Sniper. The only drawback to that Sniper is the Zoom Factor. It's got a long zoom so it takes some getting used to. That's why I'll stick to Adaptive Frame Snipers as they will two tap if you miss the headshot.

 

As far as SMG's go. These are the ones I use exclusively.

Escape Velocity with Accurized Rounds, Zen Moment, and Vorpal Weapon (admittedly, the third column doesn't matter that much).



But... What you are looking for on this SMG is any stability perk (Zen Moment or Dynamic Sway Reduction) and this scope and only this scope.

Model 8 Red.



As far as the Ikelos goes... I think it's a sleeper in the SMG world. As long as it has a stability perk and Seraph Rounds it will knock back a target like crazy. It's got stupid range on it also.
