Much harder on the WL. Took me quite a few runs before I was able to complete it flawless. The jumping puzzles aren't bad once you know the path but the second enemy spawn was my biggest problem. All the Taken Thrall, Ogres, and Champion kept knocking me off the platform no matter what I did. Finally put on the Xenophage to one shot the Ogres so I could get up on the platform and work on the Champion. After that just keep moving on the final platform with the boss. Don't worry about taking out the snipers since they will just respond. Just stay mobile on the platform with the boss since they will try to knock you off every chance they get.

We should change this thread to Rearviews Destiny 2 :)

Ive barely touched destiny. Ive tried to at least play the seasonal event once a week but this game is so stale.

Really nothing worth it this season except maybe a kinetic GL. I wonder if i will even complete the season pass hahah

    Yeah.
I was going through old quests that I never completed and found the Harbinger mission (catalyst for Hawkmoon). Figured it is older, so I should be able to get through it solo. Had to use the Google to figure out the jumpy puzzle, LOL. Made it as far as the third wave in the boss room. After 30 deaths I gave up. I'm sure if I spent all day I could have done it, but figured 30 was a good number to stop at.

No doubt I post in here more than anyone. I went though a year where I was completely done with Destiny. I hated the direction they were going and it didn't look like they were going to change anytime soon so I dropped it. But everyone kept on trying to get me to come back so when I finally did there were plenty of things to do in the game. Personally I think D2 is in the best place it's ever been. There was a time that I hated this game so much that I wished for it to fail. But now it seems they have their map laid out and it just keeps getting better. VoG was a nice return this season (albeit easy). But it was great to see the old raid and there are just enough changes to keep it interesting.

That last room is no joke. You have to have Void and Solar in the final room. The Void adds continuously spawn until you take the two Solar Majors down. Once the Solar Majors are down the boss comes out and you can do damage to him. Harbinger isn't really that old of a quest and it certainly isn't easy to solo. When they buff Hawkmoon and 140's in general, it will be a beast in Crucible. You can make Hawkmoon work in Crucible right now. It certainly isn't bad. It's just outclassed by 120's in general. With 4 stacks of Paracausal Shot it will one tap a Guardian in Crucible though.

    Yeah.
I was just looking for something different to do, it was a bit harder than I expected, LOL. I think my sword was solar, but my only Unstoppable mod was for a sidearm and I had Arc on it. It seemed pretty much worthless. Good to know on the Void and Solar, I'm still not good at figuring out what the best weapons are. I wasn't really doing it for the catalyst, but would be nice to complete some of these old things, I hate deleting them.

Last week I struggled in Iron Banner, but it seems it may have been due to being way under-leveled. Did my Crucible rounds yesterday running The Last Word and my new Misfit (Gnawing Hunger) and didn't do nearly as bad. Not good, but not nearly as rough as last week. Rough being 1270-80 and up against 1320's. Trying to get to 1300 so I can do some of the new content. Probably shouldn't have waited until Week 4 of the season to start, though.

The problem with Hawlmoon is I’m a constant reloader. You don’t want to do that with Hawkmoon in PvP or PvE. The burst damage of that final shot in PvE is unreal. And one tapping someone in crucible is fun. It’s a risk reward gun for sure. You just have to train yourself not to reload which is very hard for me to remember.

It's hard no doubt. There are a lot of missions that I'll change weapons on in the in the middle of the mission. What's good for one part might not be good for another. As long as you're running a heavy ammo scavenger perk then you should always have heavy. Harbinger is one of those missions if I'm running it solo. I probably have 15 Hawkmoon's sitting in my vault right now. If you want to run it let me know. I did it on my Hunter Fri. night. But I can do it on my WL.

As far as IB goes.... Yeah, Your level probably made a difference. Think of it like running zero resilience. You can't go wrong with The Last Word. You just have to know it's limitations. Gnawing Hunger used to be the shit. Now it's just okay. You can make it work but if you're going to use an Auto Rifle I'd suggest using a new Croma Rush since it can roll with Tunnel Vision or Heating Up. Something the Gnawing Hunger can't roll with. The Croma Rush is a Sub in Auto Rifle form.

    Yeah.
Yeah, I am a reloader as well. I have the Chromatic Fire warlock armor that creates an elemental explosion on a kinetic precision final blow, so I run the Ace of Spades in PvE and everything just blows up. Saves on ammo.

I think destiny needs more weapons that just work for you. Hit one button and itll do the rest.

I only run a few different exotics on the WL. Getaway Artist is one of my personal favorites. It takes away your grenade but it gives you a supercharged Arc Soul. If you get a kill (either with a weapon or the Arc Soul) it will almost always give you grenade energy back so you can almost always have a supercharged Arc Soul up. It does stupid damage and in PvP you basically have a second weapon auto aiming for you. It's pretty hard to run against. I'm surprised I don't run into it more often but it's not really meta so I suppose that's why. Ophidian Aspects and Transversive Steps are probably the best PvP neutral exotics in the game and is what most run in PvP. All other WL exotics are situational at best. Sunbracers for Top Tree Dawnblade are great for PvE since it's easy to get melee kills and then throw 6 grenades in a row. Lunafaction Boots are great if running a well. Ect... All the rest are situational at best. Much the same way that if you aren't running Stomp-EEs on the Hunter in PvP you are putting yourself at a huge disadvantage (Mask of Bakris excluded).

Well... after 30+ runs through VoG I was finally able to get the Fatebringer to drop for me. Everyone else that I run with in the Clan has already gotten it so I was the last. First one dropped with Osmosis which is basically a useless perk but I did get a decent PvP roll on one by turning in Spoils.

The icing on the cake was the Mythoclast also dropped on the same run. So now those of us that have it will go after the catalyst. Here's to hoping the buff for the Mythoclast will come soon as it's not putting out the damage it's supposed to be putting out.

Got the Catalyst finished today for the Mythoclast. Quite a bit that you have to do in VoG to get it done and at least one person has to have the Mythoclast. Three of us had it so we were able to get it done pretty quick.

I don't know what it is with PvP at the moment? But the last few weeks have been pretty shitty. I don't care if SBMM is turned on or off. I can play either way. But we are under CBMM right now and have been for the last two seasons which is fine when it works. But right now it doesn't. Here recently, it has been shitty in Comp, Trials, or 6v6. We played about 2 hours in Comp last night and I can not tell you how many times one of us was shot through a wall. I've lost the video that one of the guys I play with sent me of him getting sniped and the opponent was completely behind cover with a wall between them. No way to hit that shot but it went straight through a wall. We finally gave up after a while it was so bad.

I got back on later and jumped into Control which I don't normally do but figured I'd do something different. I shit you not... I got dropped in 7 matches in a row that were already in progress and of course it was always on the losing team. I finally got pissed and dropped out of three in a row since as soon as I dropped in the supers were going off. So I said fuckit... If I get a ban I get a ban... whatever. Fix your shit and I won't drop out of the game.

This is what happens when you don't have ghost bullets and people shooting through walls.

    Yeah.
I've just played enough Control to get the weekly drops, but I didn't really notice anything (not like that means much, though). I did get a 2.6 in one match, which for me is good since anything over 1.0 for me is good, lol. There were some shit-show matches with someone getting an 18 K/D.

It's not the matches that bother me. I already know if I'm playing solo there is a good chance of running against either a full stack or at least a few playing with each other. Running solo you can figure that you will win maybe 50% or your matches. I honestly don't care if I win or lose. But what I do care about is my k/d since I'm a k/d whore. What does bother me is getting dropped into 7 matches in a row already in progress. That pisses me off to no end. I understand one match here or there. That can't be helped. But 7 in a row is complete bullshit. The last three matches I got dropped into were already in progress and since I had finished out the previous four matches (already in progress), I said fuckit and just left. I'm not fucking up my k/d for something that isn't my fault. Then the fucking shooting through walls? I don't know what is going on there but that is a recent addition that we noticed last Friday in Trials. Logged in today and fully expected a ban. But so far so good.

I know I’m late to the party and everyone has almost gone home but I’m getting back to destiny and I need some pointers from you vets. I know this is a grindy game and I’m ready for the grind when I have the time but what’s the best method or rotation to start with this game. I had issues downloading it last night on my OG Xbox one so I said he’ll with it and went to bed.

Also, have they kept adding expansions to this or are they going to release a new one soon?

    TIA

As far as expansions go... it really all depends on when you quit or if you even played D2 to begin with. Yes, there are many expansions. Plus the season passes. As far as what you need to do? Depends on if you want to play the old story content. I "think" you automatically start out at 1100 but I could be mistaken. You will definitely want to buy the Beyond Light expansion since that gives you access to Stasis. But after all of that, it really depends on what you want to do in the game. You can level up through the campaign or various other ways. PvP is by far the fastest way to level up but it isn't for everyone. Join a good clan and they should be able to help you out.

Good deal, thanks for that info.

I quit roughly a year ago during the second expansion I think? I’ve been out of the groove for a while now and I figured PvP was the way to go again. I’m just burnt out on COD and all the other games minus rocket league. I need to get this going so I have actually something to play in my down time now.

Are there any websites I can go about to find these clans to link up with?

I'd use the100.io You can choose if you want a casual group, medium group, or a hard core group. The clan we have has been around since the start of D1 once the100.io came out. But I'm a member of a hard core PvP group also since no one in our clan wants to play Trials.
