Finally got the 30th Anniversary Triumphs done. Was waiting on the Minotaurs to come back so I could run them on Legend. It was the only thing I was missing.



Once you finish the Triumph you get the Cat head ornament. I don't like it and I'll never use it but I've got it now.

 

Did have something happen last night that I've never had happen before. Loaded into The Disgraced strike last night while finishing up on the weeklies and I loaded in by myself. That's not unusual since within a min or so others will load into the same strike to populate it. But this time it never happened. So I ran it by myself. It's actually kind of fun doing it this way. Not the easiest strike to solo but not a big deal either.

I do The Disgraced over and over. I do it so much it's like the first i thing do to get the bounties out if the way.. along with the Presage solo for pinnacles. I have a plethora of dead man's tale scout rifle. I end up deleting half of them..

 

I was doing GOA with my brother and tried to get all the hidden bottles to get that lion helm. Finished it but didn't get the helm. Guess I'm missing one.. Ugh!!

 

As far as the weekly bounties (3 strikes) it shouldn't count toward your Pinnacle Engram if you just choose that strike. You have to run the strikes that come up as random. That one just happened to be the one that came up last night in the rotation. No idea why it didn't populate but it was fun running it solo.

If you just want to get specific bounties done IE: Gunsmith bounties, or a few others then I've found the best place for doing those is Skywatch in the Cosmodrome. You can knock them out quickly there. And as a side benefit, I can not tell you the number of random exotics that have dropped there. But I'd say I get at least 3-4 a week. Don't know why they drop so often there but the do. But if you pick that specific strike it won't count towards your 3 strikes for the Pinnacle.

Luckily I had a buddy that knew were all the hidden things were in GoA so I just followed him. Some are out of the way and I've no idea how they even find some of those lol.

 

With DMT? If you get one with Vorpal on it? DO NOT DELETE IT! It will shut down a super in PvP faster than anything. Vorpal is the only roll you should be going after. Nothing else compares.

You were talking about how some people have stupid high season levels? I just hit 801 (without cheating my way there) and at 801 your level will be 1369 with the Artifact included.

 

So how? I've been grinding but not hard enough I guess....

 

The way I do it is I pick up every bounty in the tower first (except Gambit... Fuck Gambit). Then I go to the Helm and pick up most of the bounties there. Pick up all of the Astral Horizon bounties since you don't have to actually "do" the Astral Horizon event. It goes faster if you do but you're going to get it done by proxy anyway just by switching weapons. I only pick up the first two Splicer Bounties from the Servitor because I just don't run the Override missions anymore. The first two bounties count in the wild. The last ones you have to do Override to get them to count. Cosmodrome, Moon, Europa next. I don't pick up any other planetary bounties.

Part of it is I run three characters and complete the bounties on all of them each day. But the main thing that boosts my level is PvP. PvP gives more XP per run than any activity in the game for amount of time spent. And since I spend a large amount of time in PvP (especially Trials) then I gain a huge XP boost every day. We played 6 games of Iron Banner last night and even though I already completed all of the bounties, it still took me from 799 to 801 just in PvP alone. So the largest XP boost comes from PvP by far.

Weekly bounties obviously give the most at 12000 XP. Daily bounties give 3000 IIRC. Triumphs and seasonal objectives give a large boost. But the vast majority of my levels have come from PvP.

 

Speaking of XP. Running Strikes is probably one of the most inefficient ways to level unless you are working on a strike bounty. Otherwise for the time spent, very little XP gained.

My problem with Strikes is I hate more than half of them now that they have removed so many of them. As we are flying in you can pull up the map and see what planet you are going to. EVERY STRIKE ON NESSUS (with the exception of Inverted Spire) I will immediately back out of. I FUCKING HATE Exodus Crash and will never, ever play that strike. It is by far the most annoying strike in the game. Every time I see Nessus come up on the map while flying in, I know that I will most likely leave as soon as we land. Same thing with Proving Grounds. I won't run that one either as it is just boring as fuck. I will run any strike on Earth with the exception of Fallen Saber. I hated that strike in D1 and I hate it in D2. The Corrupted in the Dreaming City??? Fuck that strike. I'll back out every time.

What really sucks is they removed or put into the DCV most of the good strikes and left us with the shit ones. My favorite by far is Devils Lair (always has been). I really like the Arms Dealer, the Scarlet Keep, the Disgraced (from the solo video above), and that's about it. I'll put up with the ones on the Tangled Shore but they aren't my favorite. But I find myself backing out of strikes so much that I actually spend more time backing out and reloading into another shit strike that I could have had a PvP match completely completed and started another one before I find a strike that I am actually willing to play. Why they removed the best strikes in the game and put them into the DCV is beyond me? But whatever.

I am so on point with all the bounties and planets. I too have no interest playing gambit and I curse my ass off just playing it for the pinnacles. I'm hoping that if I ever get to level 800 (wow) I wouldn't have to these pinnacles. But the grind, man! It's real and can get mundane to a point I end falling asleep on the game. Lol!
And man, I gotta get better at pvp to level up as well. I was decent a couple years ago until I took a break and then all of sudden, all my meta weapons like the mida multi scout rifle wasn't hitting hard and as it did and figured it got nerf. Ugh.. Oh well, back to the drawing board.

As far as PvP goes... Unfortunately Scout Rifles (DMT excluded) haven't been in a good spot in a very long time and that doesn't look to change. I have used Symmetry to good effect but it's kind of an outlier. But that said... There are more weapons out there now that are viable than ever before in the history of Destiny. Yes... Hand Cannons are still a go to weapon if Destiny Trials report is believed. And in all honestly, I went Flawless last weekend by using the Palindrome instead of my "go to" god rolled Messenger. But it was on Burnout and that is a Hand Cannon map. But in sixes??? You can pretty much make anything work (Scouts excluded). I mean I run into a Scout Rifle user every once in a while but it usually doesn't turn out well for them. I will say that Rapid Fire Fusion Rifles have taken over Shotgun apes and I'm not sure which I hate more lol. The Main Ingredient shouldn't be able to map you but it does.

As far as Gambit goes? I only play it if I need to level up during a new season. I DO NOT care if we win or lose. I'm just there to get my three matches out of the way and I'm out. I FUCKING HATE Gambit. All I need is a 1330 Chest Piece for my Titan and I would be done. I could go into Gambit with the hopes that the Pinnacle drop might be a Chest Piece but knowing my luck it will be a heavy machine gun or some shit like that. Not worth the effort.

 

One other leveling tip I forgot to mention was running Dares of Eternity after picking up all the daily bounties. Not to mention all of the god rolled weapons you can get out of that activity. It's silly that I've run it 258 times (so far). Rarely do I ever encounter someone that has run it more than I have when I load in.

These are just the bounties I picked up today just on one character. Multiply that by 3 and you'll see why you can gain so many levels in a short amount of time.
