Connection issues this morning, something cratered at Bungie.

 

Lol... you did good man. Trials set up is a completely different animal. Everything is turned up to 11. Situational awareness is key. When they both switched to Void Locks with tracking grenades we were pretty much done from that point. It's hard to close the gap when they can alternate throwing grenades. The main thing to remember in those types of matches is to stay close to your teammate and don't go "lone wolf" it. Everything moves much faster in those types of matches but you did good. The more you play the more it will come to you. It was a blast no matter what. That's what I love about private matches. No one gets pissed and it's just fun. Fuck... That last game that Stephen played he wore me out with the Lorenz Driver. He hit some unreal shots. That is a match I should have recorded.

 

So since last weekend I hit 1370 and 838 on the season pass. I "might" hit 1371 before Witch Queen comes out and 900 on the season pass but I dunno? That's just regular playing. Not grinding super hard on anything. Just doing the bounties. Hell, last night didn't gain anything since we played private matches all night. But I haven't laughed so hard in a long time. Doubt I'll ever see a +40 again on a season.

 

Played a bunch more private matches last night. This was just the first 4 games of the first hour. All 4 of us in these matches are 5500 players and we have all gone Flawless with each other multiple times. It's just a lot of fun with no stress. Plus it helps you improve, or at the very least, keeps you in practice for Trials or Glory rank playlists. Plus the conversations are pretty funny.

By far.... The fastest Trials Card I've ever done. Invited a friend that hasn't been on much recently and asked if he wanted to help me with Trials since I hate Twilight Gap. He got on and brought one of his friends who turned out to be a god.

Last two matches of the card. The team on the Flawless match we faced had one bail and another just jump off the edge. I don't feel the least bit sorry since I've had that happen so many times in Freelance Trials. About time it happens to someone else. Unfortunately they didn't have their mics shared so you can only hear me. But they were great at callouts.

Ended up getting a god rolled Sola's Scar Sword with Jagged Edge, Relentless Strikes, and Chain Reaction (Thresh if I wanted to choose it but why?). Being a Caster Frame Sword it will clear out entire rooms of adds or do some serious damage to a boss. Truly a god roll. Can not get better.

 

This is definitely the week to farm the NF (GM or whatever). First run through Hero and got a god rolled Uzume RR4 Sniper.

Accurized Rounds, Snapshot, Demolitionist, and a Handling MW. It also highlights targets in red when you scope in so I really like it. Don't think I can find a better one.

Honestly... just doing bounties, raids, trials, pvp, dungeons, etc... Actually just normal playing. Granted I do have more time to play than the average person but if you go through the routine that I posted a page or so ago, it's amazing how fast the levels come.

I play a shit ton of PvP and for whatever reason that seems to be where the most XP is gained. I know they are reworking how the Vanguard / Gambit system works next season so it should put it on par with the gains that PvP sees. I got a jump on levels by starting a Titan from scratch a few weeks ago since that gave me another character to level and complete bounties on. But right now? There isn't a lot to do in the game until Witch Queen comes out. So I'm just chasing god rolls of weapons and gathering materials because I can promise you... If you don't have enough materials once The Witch Queen launches you will be at a disadvantage.

During the last couple weeks of this season my advice would be to to stock up on bounties and not turn them in. Especially the weekly bounties from each vendor. That will give you a huge jump in levels on your new season pass along with the new artifact. Basically what you are trying to do is to open up the entire artifact so you will be ready for when the new raid launches on 3/5/22. But trying to gain level now? Doesn't really matter. I'm just about to hit 1371 and 900 on the season pass. But those are completely fake numbers. The season pass number (the one that shows up next to your character name in the wild) is just an indication of how much you actually play. Or better yet, how efficiently you play. The 1370 / 1371 is just a bullshit number. 1330 is the hard cap for your weapons and armor. It's like I've said in the past. As long as your armor and weapons are all 1330 you will put out and receive the same damage numbers as I do if shooting the same add in the game. Just because it shows that I'm sitting at 1371?.... Doesn't mean I put out more damage than you do if all your equipment is maxed out at the hard cap of 1330.

This has been the longest season in the history of D2. Not a surprise since they warned us it would be since The Witch Queen got pushed back from Sept. to Feb. But they gave us the 30th anniversary and the new Dungeon (assuming you paid for that portion). So there has been something to do with the story beats throughout this very long season up until now. There isn't a lot going on in the game at this point. I thought about playing Trials this weekend but haven't decided if I will or not? No new weapons kind of makes it a moot point to play and I have every possible weapon out of Trials you can get. But I enjoy Trials so I'll probably play. I dunno?

Anyway... What you can do over the next 22 days is chase the things that are going to be put into the DCV if you want them. Start stocking up on materials. I cannot emphasize enough how important this will be (especially if you run three characters). Hit Spider up each day since he is going away. If he is selling material for Legendary Shards pick up as much as you can. Then go back the next day and do the same since his stock rotates each day. You will need all the materials you can get your hands on if you like the armor you have set up right now. I'm not changing my armor so I'll just be leveling it up meaning that I will need a shit ton of materials to level them up while gaining new drops. Stock up on every bounty the last week or so that you can get your hands on. ESPECIALLY the weekly bounties as they give a huge XP boost.

After the new season starts you will want to run the campaign until you hit rank 5 on your season pass before turning in any of your bounties. You will want to be in a fireteam to use this method. Once you hit level 5 on your season pass you will open up "Shared Wisdom". What that allows you to do is turn in your bounties while in a fireteam and gain extra XP for just being in a fireteam. If you don't have a fireteam then just look for someone in the tower and join on them. Turn in all your bounties real quick then leave the fireteam. One other thing you most definitely want to do is put the "Blinding Light" mod on one of your Ghosts. That automatically gives you a 12% XP boost for turning in bounties or just killing shit. I do this exact same ritual each new season. We will never see a season like this last one that has lasted for so long. And I'll never see a +41 on my artifact.

This is the season pass node that I was talking about that should give you "Shared Wisdom" and the extra XP boost by being in a fireteam.



This is the "Blinding Light" mod that you will WANT equipped at least until you hit 100 on your season pass. After you hit 100 you can replace it with whatever mod you want on your Ghost.

 

Decided to run Trials this week because.... Why not? Ended up using Bungie LFG which is hit or miss. I've had some good experiences with Bungies LFG and some truly bad experiences. This week was good. Two super chill dudes. Topped the leaderboard all but one match.

Just hit 1371 and that will be as far as I go this season. Started hoarding bounties now. I've hoarded a few weekly bounties and I'll hoard the rest over the next couple weeks on each character. Should put me around level 12 on the new season pass when it comes out.

I'll hit 900 on the season pass just by playing passively (not turning in any bounties). But that's probably as far as I'll make it. That's fine... Been a long season.

Starting to hoard bounties as well, but we still have a few weeks so I am turning some in for XP. Trying to get my main to hit 1330 base just for the Triumph. I'm sooo close. I started a Titan so have an extra character, may get my Hunter going again as well.

 

Remember, turning in bounties for XP won't do anything for gaining power to level you to 1330. The only way you can hit 1330 is to run pinnacle activities. The artifact does nothing for your run up to 1330. It's a seperate power number that doesn't mean anything. I was stuck at 1329 for a week or so when I started my Titan because I couldn't get a chest piece to drop. Finally got it in VoG so I was able to hit 1330. Honestly? Right now it doesn't even matter if you're not 1330 since you will start at a base of 1350 with the new season. I've stopped leveling up weapons that drop with a god roll since it will be a waste of resources and will automatically be leveled to 1350 on the 22nd.

I've just started hoarding bounties on each character just so I won't get burned out on running bounties. One character a week should be fine. If you look at the bounties, each bounty will say: XP, XP+, XP++. Obviously you want as many XP++ bounties that you can get since they count 12,000 XP towards your character.

 

Also... Go by Spider each day and buy as many materials as you can with legendary shards. Usually he has 4 different planetary materials each day with 3 of them available for Legendary Shards and the other for Glimmer. Just skip the one he has for sale for Glimmer. It will come around the next day. Planetary materials you will need. And you will need a lot of them. Skip the material for the Tangled Shore though since it is being vaulted.

 

Well, I'd like to hit 200 on the season and get to +20 Power. I know the Power boost just goes away with the expansion, it's just something to shoot for. And I've got plenty of time to hoard bounties still. I can turn some in and still be packed full by then. And I know the XP does nothing for the base level, just hoping I get a Pinnacle drop of a chest piece and boots over the next few weeks.

Why do we need lots of planetary materials?

 

Oh... I see what your saying about the Triumph for +20 now. Yeah, you should still turn in bounties until you get that Triumph done.

You'll need planetary materials to buy enhancement cores from Banshee to infuse your weapons and armor. If you don't have enough you will be stuck wearing blue shit until you can get enough to buy an enhancement core. If you like the armor you're wearing right now and don't want to replace it, you will want to infuse as you go through the campaign. You don't have to infuse all the time but there will come a time that you will either have to infuse blues into your armor / weapons to be able to complete the content. You may find different armor you like that is higher level than what you have now with good stats. That would be great for you. This applies to me more specifically since I'm running Trials armor and have no intention of replacing it due to the stats that I have and the builds that I have built around those stats. If you happened to watch the video of the private match that I posted from last night above, you'll notice that I can have Arc Souls up almost all the time due to the stats and the way I have my stats set up. I'm not giving that up so I'll be infusing a lot of things into that set of armor.

You can hear it in Grasty's voice how irritated he is running against that lol. In fact it made him change to my loadout. But since I run it all the time I know how to counter it.

On to how many bounties you can hold on a character. You can hold a total of 63 bounties per character. The issue is, the main quests that show up on the left side of the screen count toward those bounties. On my Titan I can hold 54 bounties that I can turn in. Since my other character are further along, I can get closer to 63 bounties to turn in.

Titan is done with hoarding bounties.

 

When I say that you don't have to infuse each time you pick up a blue that is higher level what I mean is keep the blue item in your inventory. What this does is allow the game to know you have a higher level item and it will then keep on dropping higher level blues as long as you have them in your inventory. Once a higher level blue drops, delete the lower level blue item and rinse and repeat until you finally can't complete a part of the campaign. Then.... infuse those blues into your equipped items. That will save your materials until you really need them. You will level fast and hit the soft cap (when blues can no longer level you up) then you will rely on powerful engrams. Go for the powerful engrams WELL before going for pinnacle engrams or you will just be wasting them.
