I'm running my WL through on Legendary but I'm waiting on that character so I can finish it with a buddy that I play with. Started running the campaign on my Hunter on regular just to finish it and go ahead and get the new exotic sub and start working on the other exotics in the game. Also trying to open up weapon crafting but if I just wait around for him on my WL, it will be forever before I can start any of that. Funny thing... My Hunter is now the same level as my WL after running 3 missions. I'm up to the 11th mission now on the Hunter and I'll finish it today. Then I'll run my Titan through. Course this is the way I was going to do it anyway. After hitting the soft cap you actually "want" to run your other characters through to the soft cap. Then log back on my WL to finish. Most effective way of leveling.

I will say that the regular campaign is like running Destiny with training wheels. It's compared to Legendary. Night and day difference. Only time I've died so far is because I mad a bad jump.

 

Yeah, I should have started on a non-main character, but oh well. Second and third characters always level up fast. I'm super close to the soft cap base on my Warlock and still working through the campaign. Early on there were some sweaty moments, but once you get above about 1450 it is easy on the normal level. And yes, I have died multiple times missing jumps. Loving the void grenade and devour.

For people just starting out and learning how to level effectively, I can see how the normal campaign might be a bit challenging at times.

 

Actually, you want to level your first character to the soft cap. Then level the others. Once all are at the soft cap, then go back to your main character and finish.

 

OK, well, then I am doing it right. I never filled up on engrams, so I just have the bounties to turn in. I may have screwed up and/or found a bug unless we get more void aspects/grenades/etc. down the line. I found Ikora and grabbed the new void stuff and did the Meditate before I got the quest to go meditate, so now I have the Meditate quest and can't meditate. I didn't leave enough bounty slots open and it got sent to the postmaster.

 

Turn in every bounty right now except Vanguard and Crucible bounties. Turn those in when you hit 1500.

 

Like, on every character?

 

Everything but your Vanguard and Crucible until you hit 1500 on each character. Turn them all in other than those.

Finished up the Legendary Campaign and it was no joke. I can confirm that it scales to the number of people you have running with you. You would think that having three people would make it easier but it doesn't. It makes it three times as hard. The "only" benefit to having three people is if you happen to die you can get revived instead of starting over. But you only have one revive per person so if two are used up and the person with the remaining revive goes down? It's an automatic wipe. Was on the final mission by myself and it is a very loooonnnggg mission. Never died to Savathun but died to just stupid shit like a moth that I didn't notice. Got her down to less than 1/4 health once and a fucking moth killed me and I had to run it again. Then two friends jumped in and it took us probably 30 mins on the final mission when we finally got it done. But I think we reset at least 5 times before we got it done. So I'm really not sure what is the best way to do it? I've run almost the entire campaign on Legendary by myself with the exception of a couple missions and it's hard no doubt. But I think it's harder with two or three people since it scales.

You get an emblem and a Triumph for completing it on Legendary which is fine. I'll never equip the emblem. But the 1520 gear is a nice benefit. From what I understand, when the raid comes out next Saturday it will be 1530. So I'll be well above that.

 

Got the Osteo Striga crafted and then worked to get it masterworked. Getting it isn't hard. Masterworking it? That's a drag. You have to level up Fynch in the Throne World to level 13 to gain access to the master daily missions. You only get one Ascendant Alloy per week if you buy it. You can get one from the Gunsmith but you have to level him up to level 16 and that would take forever. Getting Fynch up to level 13 isn't "hard"... It's just kind of boring. You can do bounties along the way but the only way to actually level him up is by doing patrols, public events, looting chests, and running Lost Sectors. Took me about 2 hours of grinding the Throne World and in a way it's kind of cool because he has you running all over the place and the Throne World is HUGE. Lot of cool things there but I won't lie and say that it gets kind of boring doing the same thing over and over just to get him to level 13.

Once you get to level 13 you can start running the Master Daily Mission and there is a chance at the end for an Ascendant Alloy to drop. Ran it twice and it dropped on the second run which gave me enough to masterwork the Osteo Striga. Once Masterworked it gains the ability to put ammon back into the weapon overfilling it as long as you are killing with headshots. It has a magazine of 27 but I've had it reach 102 pretty often just by killing a couple adds. Then you never have to reload it. The cool thing about it is, it spreads poison to close by adds and it will automatically kill them also with the AOE. So I Masterworked it with a PvE build since it is a projectile weapon instead of a hitscan weapon. It would suck in PvP. But in PvE? It's a beast.



You can only buy one Ascendant Alloy per week from Rahool. So the only way to get one consistently is to level up Fynch to 13 and run the Daily Master Mission. It's a pain but worth it.

 

And I just took this picture because I thought it looked cool. I don't know what they did but the game looked amazing before the patch. But now??? It looks even better. This was from the top of the last mission before the fight.

So I've completed the Campaign on all three characters. Only once on Legendary on my WL. Didn't see the need in running it on Legendary three times. Probably the best story that Destiny has ever put out. It is BY FAR the best campaign they have ever done. The cutscenes are amazing and the entire quest chain is damn near perfect. Plenty of puzzles to solve along the way. I can't say enough good things about the state of the game as it sits right now. I won't spoil it for anyone that hasn't finished the campaign but it is worth doing at least once on one of your characters because it is a challenge. It's a challenge doing it solo or with a fireteam. Legendary doesn't give a fuck and will scale up the difficulty by the number of people running in a group. Genius idea.

Played a couple of PvP matches tonight and I finally took my hunter back in after a two month hiatus. Even with Void 3.0 it still played about the same. I tried out the new Trials Scout Rifle in one match and it's actually surprisingly good. Not sure I'd actually take it into Trials but who knows? Reminds me of Randy's Throwing Knife only better with the perk combination that I got on mine.

Couldn't sleep at all tonight so I stayed up and finished the quest for the Parasite Grenade Launcher. It's not hard until the end. I won't spoil anything but I will give you a hint when you have to carry the worm? Don't stop and shoot anything. You only have 2:30 secs to complete one part. You'll know what I'm talking about when you get to that point. Once you get it... It puts out stupid damage. Not sure what it's actually good at other than clearing entire rooms full of adds. But it's funny as fuck shooting baby worms out of it. The pure damage output is lower than the GH so I don't know why it's needed actually? It's fun to play with but I can't find anything that puts out more add clearing potential than the Osteo Striga. That sub puts out more damage over time than any other weapon I know. It made the Legendary Campaign so much easier. For PVE? I have a hard time putting it down. Best PvE sub ever.

 

Quick farming method in case you haven't seen it on Youtube. This is the fastest farm for leveling up Fynch in the Throne World. The only thing you need to make this work is have "Deep Sight Tier 3" opened up on Fynch. I "think" it opens up at rank 12-13?

Just follow the path that I take in the video. You can stop along the way to pick up chests if you want. They give rep toward Fynch. If you can get your sparrow across the gaps it makes this farm go much faster. You will see in the video exactly what to do so no need in me explaining it. This chest gives you +200 rep each time. It takes about 30 secs. to run this path so about every 2-3 mins you will level Fynch up. There is also another chest around the corner that you can sword swing to but I've just found it easier to just loot this one chest. Most people are using this farm to farm the new Funnelweb Sub Machine Gun (basically the new Recluse). But after a certain point in rep from Fynch you no longer get "world drops" and only get Throne World drops. That's fine because I'm trying to get patterns to every weapon available. I've also found this farm really helpful in leveling out your equipment. If you have a piece of armor lagging behind this farm will get all of your armor to within a power level of each piece.

Anyway... do it before it gets patched out. You can do it while you're watching Netflix or listening to music because it certainly isn't entertaining. But... it is rewarding by the amount of XP you gain toward Fynch.

Hope you at least tried to farm the method that I posted above. It's been patched out like I figured it would. If not? You lost a very easy farm for rep, weapons, and armor.

 

I farmed it a little, but I've got Fynch over level 30 now and am not getting great drops. I just grab the fuzzy balls I run in to while running other stuff.

 

The drop part was two fold. One it helped you level out your gear. But most importantly it let you go for weapon patterns. That was the big selling point. I figured it would go away today and sure enough... it did. Put it this way... I've been farming Wellspring and all I need is one more Tarnation to drop with a pattern. After I got the first one and leveled it up, I could have gone to that farm and it would be in my drop pool so I wouldn't have to suffer through playing Wellspring over and over just to try to get another one to drop. I'm trying to finish out the last bounty so I can start on the exotic glaive after the raid drops. But now I'm locked into farming Wellspring and the drop rates are stupid low. Bungie has admitted this. I've run it probably 30 times today and so far I've only got one Tarnation pattern. Just need one more so I can finish the bounty. But until I get one? I can't finish it. And today is the day that it's dropping. Will be 4 more days after today that you can "try" to farm it again. Which is why I said... Sure hope you took advantage of this before it got patched out. I knew it would be in the patch notes today and sure enough...

For any that still read this DO THIS NOW!!! This week is double Vanguard points so that's always a good thing. But... The Vanguard playlist is bugged and it's counting for WAY more than double points. As long as you don't leave the playlist and do something else, your streak will stay and you will be earning about 10X's the XP as you are supposed to be earning. The NF this week is the Arms Dealer and it is a quick strike. Just do it on Hero so you can get a pretty good shot at Prisms and the sniper. You will rank up 1 complete level with Zavala each run. I got the new Shotgun in about 40 mins of just running strikes. Normally it would have taken forever but with it being bugged you can level up Zavala completely about once per hour. First level you get an Ascendant Shard. Each complete reset after that will drop an exotic. Just make sure you do not leave the strike playlist to do something else. Otherwise it resets your streak. You can go to the tower and it won't reset your streak. But anywhere else will.
