    Yeah.
So, patch notes indicate they are trying to do something about everyone running invisibility (you will ping on radar for 0.6 secs every 3 secs), and making glaives possibly a bit more useful (charged after 4 hits instead of 6).

Won't effect my gameplay at all with those changes. Being invis isn't that big of a deal if you just listen for it. Every single class ability makes a distinct sound. So it's not hard to know when someone is invis. Plus... it's really not that hard to see someone that is invis. Removal from radar is convenient but if you listen? Still not hard to know where they are coming from or going to. If I need to heal, I crouch which gives the same radar pings. If you really want to fuck someone up with their radar run Gemini Jesters and invis. That totally takes everyone's radar off the screen for around 3-5 secs in a pretty large radius, does a slight amount of damage so you can dodge next to a wall and see someone ping on the other side of the wall, and you can run invis. But... if anyone is playing at a high level? On a Hunter you're going to run Stompees. Every class has a neutral exotic that they will revert back to when playing PvP. Especially high level PvP. There are a lot of exotics you can play around with in regular PvP. But when it comes to Comp or Trials? You will almost always see the same thing if you want to win.

    Glaives

Ran into someone running a Glaive last night in IB and he actually hit me with a shot. Killed him outright since he wasn't close enough to use the melee. Glaives, unless they make a DRAMATIC change to them will be useless in PvP. No other way around it. They have some use in PvE but really no use in PvP unless you just want to fuck around with them. But they put you at a huge disadvantage since it takes away a weapon that is actually useful. Fusion Rifles, Shotguns, Sub Machine Guns, and Snipers (if you can use them effectively) rule PvP right now. Just the way it is and the way it will most likely stay as far as special weapons go. Unless they ever make Glaives a hit scan weapon instead of a projectile weapon? Then they could be dangerous. Until then? Useless.

*EDIT* It's the same reason Osteo Striga just isn't good in PvP. I run into someone using it every once in a while and I have been killed by it a handful of times. But that was usually because I had just gotten out of a fight with someone else. I've never been out dualed by someone using Osteo Striga because it is a projectile weapon that has travel time. If they ever made it a hit scan weapon it would be a fucking beast. I don't see that ever happening.

Honestly what they really need to focus on is:

1: The number of ways that I have to gain True Sight and keep it chained. Before Void 3.0 the only way for a Hunter to gain True Sight was to run middle tree Void. Now all I have to do is hit someone with a grenade and kill them with a shot or the grenade outright, throw a smoke bomb and kill them while under the effect of that smoke, and then chain kills to keep True Sight going (which also keeps me invis). So I have wall hacks pretty often.

2: Give WL's some love with Void 3.0. I ran into a few last night running Void in IB and it's almost sad. It's so easy to avoid "Child of the Old Gods" it's stupid. The WL has nothing else in it's kit other than the grenades that everyone else has. So the only thing the WL has going for it in Void 3.0 is if they are running Chaos Accelerant where they can overcharge the grenade making it a one hit kill. Sure, they have a rift to heal or empower but you have to stand in that rift to take advantage of it. That is why running Arc with Getaway Artists is still a viable build. It's not as viable as it used to be since it won't track someone that is invis. But you don't stay invis forever.

3: Titans running Void 3.0 need a nerf to the Barrier Shield. It needs to be like the WL where you have to be standing in the radius of the Barrier Shield to take advantage of the healing (overshield). But you can just run through the shield and take the overshield with you. That is stupid in my opinion. Titans have enough ways to gain an overshield without giving it to everyone else also.

If anyone is interested in seeing the last two encounters of the raid, this is from my point of view. The raid is one of the best raids that Bungie has put out... That is... Until the last encounter. The third encounter is actually the hardest part of the raid. Everything in the raid requires you to know each of the 27 symbols and being able to call them out quickly. All while being bombarded by enemies. It's a long raid which is a good thing. I imagine the more we do it, we can probably get the time down to around an hour if not going for the secret chests. I cut out all the jumping puzzles as they are pretty straight forward and easier than most jumping puzzles from previous raids.

The only issue is the final boss. Coming from the third encounter where there is very little room to make a mistake at all, the boss encounter is tame and weird at the same time. It's probably the easiest part of the raid and it's almost like whoever was involved in designing the raid just kind of said fuckit... It's just a weird fight. The bosses attacks really don't mean anything and they are telegraphed so hard that it's extremely easy to avoid. More annoying than anything. Probably the least climatic fight of any raid (even Crota). The hardest part is just knowing how to swap the buff back and forth.

Here's the third encounter. This took us the longest to figure out and get through. We got stuck on this for a couple nights. You can see how hectic this entire 6 mins is.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L6Rt6oFuJW8

Opposed to the Boss fight. It takes a little longer but there is much less stress. And it's just weird...

@TenBeers Did get the Glaive to drop from the raid though. Yea!!!!

I can say with almost full certainty that Funnelweb is almost never taken off during the raid. It truly is the new Recluse. Being a Void Sub Machine Gun it fits in with Void 3.0 perfectly. You don't "have" to run it but it's kind of silly not to. There is a reason there is a huge uptick in Sub Machine Guns in PvP. It's because of Funnelweb. Other than that? Witherhoard for 90% of the raid. For heavy? RL (tracking preferably) for the first encounter. Linear Fusion Rifle for the second encounter. Sword (preferably a Vortex Sword) for the third encounter. Linear Fusion Rifle and heavy hitting primary Sniper for the final encounter. That's really about it. Funnelweb is the do all weapon this season. The Recluse has returned and I've colored mine as closely to the way the actual Recluse used to look. If everyone is running Witherhoard it makes it much easier to deal with adds. And luckily the Witherhoard shot lasts for a long time. For the vast majority of the raid it is the go to primary.

All I am missing from the raid is the grenade launcher and the exotic pulse rifle. My group has it down to around an hour and a half now .

You are right tho, the boss fight is more strange than anything.

I'm missing the the same things. Need one more pattern to craft the Insidious Pulse Rifle. I've gotten a couple that are god rolled so I'm good with those. But I would like to craft my own. I've got plenty of materials from breaking down weapons from the raid so I should be good there. The Pulse Rifle is great in 6v6 PvP. I wouldn't take it into Trials but for 6's? It's a beast.

The guy you hear talking the most in those videos above is in our clan and he runs all the GM's and a shit ton of PvE stuff and helps others with their GM titles etc... I have no desire to run a GM unless the Adept Pali is dropping and even though I still hate GM's, I "might" run it if it is the right NF. GM's are just a war of attrition and I can't stand that. Sure, there is skill involved but everything is static so eventually you will figure it out. Still no fun to me. I love raiding and long before he joined our clan we would get them done our own way and just fuck around until we got it done. He takes it a little too seriously for me but it is what it is. I take Trials seriously so when I play, I play to win. So it's a wash. He's one of those guys that will sit down and study the raids, GM's, etc... I'm one that will go in there and just wing it until we figure it out. We've always been like that. I don't watch anything to do with the raids as I like to go in blind. Hell... I take my PvP build in with me and just change out a few mods. I don't build into the raid. I build into PvP. But I've found out what is good for PvP is fine for PvE with the right mod change.

But yeah... the raid is great until you get to the final boss then it just gets weird. The only issue with the final boss is he moves around right when you're about to take your shot (which is why you see me miss some shots). But it's just weird fight. Divinity comes in handy for that since it creates a large crit spot on the boss. I do love the third encounter though because it is frantic.

Well... got the Grenade Launcher to drop from the final chest last night. So all I need is the Exotic and I'll be done.

@Slow Internet Grenade launcher dropped last night.

After playing the raid now I've kind of changed my opinion. It's a fun raid no doubt. The weapons are good. The third encounter is by far the funnest since it is the most hectic. But the reliance of everyone knowing all the symbols just kind of gets annoying. It was fun the first few times but now it's just kind of old. The fist encounter is simple enough and we got the challenge done last night where you have to kill the champions at the exact same time. Also got the all Void challenge done. But the final boss fight? I just don't like it at all. The only thing that makes the final boss fight unique to other raids is the boss moves around. But even when he moves around he telegraphs his moves so blatantly that it's so easy to avoid. But it's just weird and makes no sense. It's the easiest encounter in the entire raid when it actually should be the hardest. Once I get the Exotic Pulse Rifle? That will probably be the last time I run the raid. Back to PvP for me.

It's got shit rolls on it but at least I got it.

Nice, I have 2 runs coming up tonight. I am like you, once I get all the weapons I may run one a week or so.

I seriously doubt I'll run it again once I'm able to get the exotic out of there (who knows how long that will take though?). I can't run it again this week since I finished it up on all three characters so I won't get any drops, just spoils. I can't say that I don't like the raid because I do. But it seems they have leaned heavily into just knowing symbols and that's about it. The final boss fight for instance, the adds pose no danger and are just there for you to collect ammo. The mechanics of the final boss fight are tame in comparison to the rest of the raid. It's kind of like I said... It looks like the dev team just gave up at the end. The rest of the raid is mostly fun but now that we've run it multiple times? It's starting to feel a lot like DSC and I hated that raid. I hated that raid so much that I only ran it 4 times just to get the Trustee to drop and spend my spoils on a god roll. Never ran it again nor do I ever plan to.

The raid itself is beautiful if you have time to look around. And the third encounter is by far the best part of that raid. Other than that??? It's pretty boring IMO.

Well... once again LFG fucked me. Joined a group looking for one more and once they got their Flawless Card finished they just dropped group. Thing is, they were damn good so it's not like they couldn't have helped me win one more game. Ended up just solo queuing for the final match and here is how it went. This was going up against a 3 stack and we were all solo with no coms.

Wait until the end. I know they thought they had this shit won lol. It was a good strat but you'll just have to see it at the end.

I am honestly happy I found this section, I play tons of Destiny 2, less now after a fallout with my Clan. We tried to run Vow of the Disciple on day one. We got to the last encounter and gave up after a long day. When challenge mode ended we came back and beat the big baddie!

    What platform?

Finished the raid on all my characters this week then did it two more times yesterday to help a few clanmates though it.

Fucking around with a full stack from our clan tonight. Steamrolled almost everyone we came across. I took Tarrabah in PvP for the first time and it's now my new baby. This thing is brutal.

    First match of the night.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-nA3P4LMPqo

I decided to pull out the Scout Rifle I got yesterday from Trials to see how it preforms in PvP since Scouts aren't meta right now. To my surprise... in two games I got 37 kills with it. Adagio is brutal when it's activated. You only need to kill one enemy and the rate of fire drops from 260 to 220 and that takes a bit to get used to. But Adagio does 30% more damage per shot when it is active. No need to reload to proc Kill Clip or some other damage dealing perks. So I'm very happy with this weapon.

    Jesus Christ!!!

Tonight was brutal. I don't think I've ever worked so hard to get kills in crucible than I did tonight. We went in as a 3 stack and one dropped after the first couple of matches. Got another in and he played a couple matches and actually took us out of one match because we got spawn trapped. "I" wouldn't have done that but he had lead so he pulled us out. He quit not long after. Then... got one more in and he stuck it out with us for the rest of the matches. We played 17 matches and only won 5. Glad it was quickplay and not comp.

It's not like we weren't trying. I've NEVER seen it this sweaty in quickplay. Even on a Friday or Saturday night much less a Wednesday night. Every team we went up against was either a full stack or almost a full stack. That "usually" isn't a big deal and I don't really concern myself with it. But tonight I felt like I played harder than when I play Trials it was that sweaty. Never went negative so there's something I suppose.

They have got to bring back SBMM for Quickplay. There is no way that someone new coming into the game would have enjoyed tonight. If it was brutal for me and I had to work my ass off for kills? I've no idea how someone new coming into the game could even think about competing. If they brought back SBMM then they wouldn't have to play people at my skill level. There would be nothing fun about that.

This is what tonight looked like

    [IMG] [IMG]

Last match of the night and this is how it was the entire night. You can see just how hard I had to work for the kills and we still lost.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=biUVTqTWIXM

*EDIT* I highly recommend taking Tarrabah for a spin in Crucible. You'll see why if you watch the video. It is an "S" tier weapon. The only thing I wish they would change is, if you kill two other people in Crucible then Ravenous Beast becomes active and it fires at 900 RPM instead of 750 and does a fuck ton of damage. But if you switch weapons after you have gained enough to get the perk, you lose it and have to start over. I wish it would stay when you switch back because the animation for Ravenous Beast is a pretty long animation so it's not like you're going to switch firing modes in the middle of a gunfight. Add to that, it only stays active for 7 secs. so you better find someone else to damage with it otherwise you start over.

Well... Fuck todays TWAB. They are retiring the Unbroken Seal which is total and complete bullshit. It will be replaced with something "easier" to get since grinding out the Unbroken Seal takes almost a full year to get. It is the most exclusive title to get in the game and now they are taking it away after all this work that I put in to get it. Not only to get the title but to actually Gild that title every season since. Oh Boo hoo... Some people either can't get it or won't grind out that title. It is the pinnacle of PvP titles and everyone knows what you had to go through to get it. But don't take it away from me and everyone else that actually did grind out that title or the ability to Gild it. That is total bullshit. Countless hours in PvP and almost a year to get it and they decide they are retiring that title and seal? That is one of the first things I do each season is Gild the Unbroken title. Now? Who the fuck knows what they will replace it with but it will be an "everyone gets a fucking trophy title" I'm sure. Fucking stupid. It's decisions like this that piss me the fuck off after I put in all that time and effort to get the most exclusive title in the game.

There is very little reason to play in the Comp playlist as of now and now they took away the only incentive to actually play it? WTF??? First they take away all the exclusive pinnacle weapons that you could earn because some people couldn't get them. Fuck them. Either get good or don't bitch about it. It's fucking simple. And don't think for one second that they are going to revamp Comp for any "meaningful" reason to play. There will never be another pinnacle weapon to chase after in Comp. Only a participation trophy now. I understand that there are a lot of people that don't like PvP and I get it. No one is forcing you to play in a game mode you dislike. But don't punish those of us that do. It's kind of like getting the Conquer Seal from beating all the GM NF's. I don't give a shit about running GM's but I'm not bitching that I don't have that title. I don't want that title and I would never rock that title. It's not "my" priority in the game. But I understand it is for others. But I'm not begging Bungie to take that title away or make it easier to get. Fuck...

Anyway... In other news "I guess". Tonight wasn't nearly as sweaty in Quick Play as last night. Just me and a buddy and we got beat a few times but we won more than we lost.

I recorded this video since this very seldom happens with a group of randoms. Our entire group rolled as a team and it was just a good match to play. Actually really enjoyable. Very rarely will you see a group of randoms play as a team. But here it is.
