Came home to find TV, computers, ipod's, jewelry, and every draw ransacked. Have a pretty good feeling of who it was as well as everyone I spoke to in my cul de sca. Anyone had this experience before if so what did you do?
I know that there isn't much that can be done, but its a strange feeling and I don't know what to do?

That sucks! Start an inventory of everything missing, and what you paid for it, or what it's worth to replace. Good luck!

Sorry to hear this happened to you. It's a constant fear of mine living in a bad neighborhood. I'm assuming you don't have an alarm system? I pay about $30 a month for mine plus I paid a few hundred for installation. A couple months ago my neighbor had someone try to break in through the window. She was home at the time  but had the alarm on. Once the guy heard the alarm he took off. If you can afford it, get one. It's just one of those extra deterrents that scares most off.

Thanks you to all of you. I did get a police report and everything accounted for. Didn't have much to begin with but still I worked my ass off for it. DCGirl - who do you have it with. $30 a month is affordable.

Wow, that sucks. What part of town are you in? My house was broken into last year before I bought it, but the neighbors called it in and they were caught. I'm near 40th St and Southern.

83rd and Lower Buckeye. Nothing like this has happened in the 6 years one of my neighbors has lived there. Funny thing is each one of my neighbors pointed at one specific house and well it's just nice to know everyone is on the same page. These people are my next door neighbors and the backdoor was pried open so it's a pretty easy puzzle to piece together. That's what is the most disturbing thing about it.

Had it happen to me too about 5 years ago. The worst feeling knowing somebody was in your house. I was just glad my wife was not home during the invasion.

What I did afterwards, get an alarm, put up a 'beware of dog' sign (even though I don't have a dog), make sure the motion sensor lights are working and get a new gazillion watt bulb for it, sticks for windows and sliding doors, also make sure all neighbors are aware of the situation. Oh yea, can't forget the new AR15.:infantry:

    Sorry for you man.

Made me think though. I'm going to make a video (or take some pics) of the stuff in my house this weekend, and keep it on my phone in case there is a need to prove what I have to the insurance co.

I lost track thousands of dollars ago.
This ^ we had a brake in back in June they took my 500lb gun safe about a block with our dolly before the cops got there. We have a alarm but my wife's parents forgot to arm it after checking on our house. It sucks to have it happen I'm just glad my wife and son were with me when it happened. I now have someone stay at my house when we leave for more then a day.

I have ADT but got a deal through USAA. Not sure what others are paying? My favorite thing is the motion sensor inside the house. Your renters or homeowners insurance can also go down a bit once you let them know you have an alarm.

    I am pissed for you.

My sister inlaw used to have a place at 87th Ave and LBR. Tennant was moving out and the Next door neighbor kicked in the back French Doors. Grabbed a few small things and cut the copper out of the 2 ground A/C units.

Post your list of items stolen w/descriptions. Forum members can keep an eye out for CL or other postings. Also consider checking neighborhood yard sales and Park & Swap.

Thank you TW comrades. It uplifting to see many of you reach out with out ever having met. Thank you for the emotional support. Going to move back to my old neighborhood ASAP. It's been on my mind anyway so now is as good as time as ever.

Few of the things lost. It may help but they are pretty ordinary items.
Lg tv flat screen, I think it was a 32"
    Dell laptop
    Toshiba laptop satellite
    And two iPods.

Seems like a shot in the dark I wish I could specify more about the items
The toshiba had a background of a large family reunion picture. I'm holding onto the dog in the front row.
iPod had a picture of my mother and cousin black and white photo with red colored in, Christmas picture.
Pretty vague plus I'm sure all that stuff would be wiped clean.
Thanks again TW members. Wishing you all Happy Holidays.

That sucks. Had my house broken into when I was a kid. They must have seen the portable Bose sound system through the back window. They stole a pocket knife, 10 speed bike and something else. Our house backed up to some town houses and they wanted the walls to be 5" high. Every house on my block that backed up the the town houses had been broken into at some point in time. We tried making the wall taller, but the HOA for the town houses said no unless we used the 4" block instead of the 8" block we wanted to use.
