I popped open my hood and I saw my battery tilted over with no brace, it was leaning on my valve cover (5vz-fe). i went to bring it back up and a found the brace, i didn't notice it first cause it was around 9:45 so it was dark out and its been a while since ive checked my oil(motor leaks oil). i picked it up and my battery started to spark from the terminal, i saw that the brace jumped a connection from the positive battery terminal to the ground for my fuse box and it was stuck, i paniced and tried to move the battery but i was wedged in there because the brace was in the way, every time i hit it, it would spark, i got it loose and tried to open the truck with my key fob and nothing happened. at that point i was thinking "that's it my ECU is fried". i checked the fuses and all the fuses are fine but my parking lights don't work, taillights, turn signals, cluster doesn't work, at all or the radio and ac nor does the truck crank over. idk what to do rn at all, im so bummed out that this happened and idk how ill be able to go to my job interview for my first job..any suggestions???please??

Your battery is probably dead. Did you try to jump start?

thank you so much man, im bad when it comes to electronics, i jumped the 2 parts of the fuse with the pair of pliers and my alarm went off. i then pinched the 2 sides together and it started right up. im gonna hop in another car and go buy a new 80A fuse, once again thanks!

Why yes, yes there are a couple...........

If it's leaking oil and you can't afford to fix it, you need to check it more often. 'Been a while' isn't good.

Well you found the brace. I'm sure the battery toppled while someone was hooning around. Point is, when you open the hood to occasionally check your leaking oil level, it's good to inspect other items too. Fluid levels, hose conditions, brackets that hold stuff like batteries. No need to repeat that situation, bolt the sucker down!

There's no reason to be. At least with the basics like this. Start reading up and asking questions about how stuff works. Before it breaks. The 'big stuff' is actually rudimentary electrical. Not much mystical there.

Glad you got it running again. Hope you get the job. While you need to focus on doing well at it, don't forget to give your truck a bit of love, at least once a week...........
