    dad smoked my clutch once pulling my brother out of a sandy arroyo. still going strong on the original at 175k.

    edit: okay he didn't smoke it but you could definitely smell it.

    I burned out a clutch in my 1990 Ranger earlier than that , the truck made it to almost 400 000 kms though

    It's an 89 Toyota Pickup. I got some stuff done to it.. FJ axles going under it soon.
    I rather smoke a clutch then a valve body ;)


    and drive that bitch till it don't drive anymore.

    Burning clutchs every once in a while is good actually..burn it up..let it sit. Then it really grabs again..it's like resurfacing the clutch lol.

    I only ever smelled my clutch on my ranger. that thing started slipping at 160k. my taco has a little over 10k miles and I've never smelled it (I try to drive carefully)

    also Oz.. what the f is a kms? I know your not in america but at least learn how to talk properly..

    I only smelled my clutch once since I've had it, and it was very brief. So far haven't noticed any real problems in 28k+ miles. It's still weak...but that's how it comes from the factory. As long as I get to 100k I'll be happy.

    I learned to drive stick on the current truck, I used to ride on the clutch...alot when i first started, truck had 60k miles, did a bunch of burnouts(17) immature age and the truck has 250k miles on stock clutch now, until it starts to slip your fine.
