Could be all kinds of things. Fuel leak. Oil leak getting onto exhaust components. Wires shorted/chewed by rodents. Arson.

I've not heard of specific problems/causes.

Any aftermarket alarm, sound system, or lights?
Electrical shorts are the most common cause for car fires.

As others have said, non-factory electrical is the most common.

Our trucks don't have any sort of "known fire hazard" that some others get.

    Yes.

Sorry for your loss. Hopefully you have full comprehensive.

Unless you know a fire investigation pro, you may never know the root cause.

But I don't think it's Toyota specific, even with Infernos. (Sorry, couldn't help myself)

Did they use a torch to loosen the adjustment cams?

Lots of shops do it. Not many will admit it.

I knew it was a stretch in asking if there would be a specific cause or known issue. Nothing aftermarket. Only thing aftermarket was total chaos UCA and King Coilovers extended travel. I know it isn't electrical but it sucks that I had just finished installing them. Scratch that. Also a sound system.

Was the sound system installed by a professional shop, best buy, or backyard job?

Ferraris burn up pretty regularly. Tacomas not so much. Sorry for you. What's the wheel center cap looking thing on top of what used to be the battery?

Again. Alignment. Using a torch to loosen cams. Probably smoldered until it finally fully caught.

    Don't discount it.

Came with the truck, so I'm not sure. I would need to ask the previous owner. Owned it for 5 years and never had a problem. Could have been the problem.

Is there any way to prove that ? Because I went to Pep Boyz after the incident and the manager practically laughed and said " You were praying we did something electrical Huh?" and said they could have not been the problem.

Did you say it was electrical? They will deny everything.

Hate hack shops like pep boys.

Check if any of your neighbors have security cameras that caught it igniting. That might give you some info.

Yeah that is as far as we got into when it came to trying to determine the cause. We think it was a short/battery problem but figured I'd ask if anyone had heard of anything else. We had it under an extended rough so we got lucky in the fact that the house did not catch fire as well; silver lining I guess.
