    Hey Everyone,

Have a question that need to be pointed in the right direction.

    I have a 2017 PRO currently with 85k miles.
This summer I replaced the following.

    83k miles
    ECS bushing
    New Axle Seal
3.2 pints of 75-90 ASMSOIL Diff Fluid. (Front)

3.8 qts. of 75-90 ASMSOIL diff Fuld (read)

Royal Purple 75-90 GL-4 Transfer Case Fluid 1.05 qts.

    Now to my challenge.
Over the last three weeks we have had some snow. So I drove to work and around on the weekend. What has happened twice now is after about 30 mins of slow driving in 4WD i have smelt burning gear oil.

I have no leaks anywhere but do need to get it off the ground and looks closers at the rear axle seals.

Any other suggestions of what I should be looking for?
I need to check fluid levels as well but it has been real cold and I dont have a garage.

    Thanks!

Gear oil is only 3 weeks old and you get the oil smell after driving in 4Hi? Maybe just the oil breaking in. Or the little drips of oil you got weeping from the Fill hole during the front oil change are just burning off after the front diff gets hot. When my '22 was brand new I smelled gear oil the first few times I ran 4Hi. Maybe it will go away. Haven't used Amsoil but maybe the fancy additives smell a little different from OEM oil when it's fresh.

Stock wheels and suspension. Random "utilitarian" mods featured on this great forum.
One explanation may be if you spilled or didn't clean up a splash, it flows towards a cat or crossover tube as it warms up while driving and burns. A lot of oil leaks are misdiagnosed in terms of where they start because wile moving, they get pushed around. Same thing may be happening if you're leaking more while driving too.
