Years ago a friend of mine returned a computer to Costco because it failed, after a YEAR! They gave him a full refund at the time but changed their electronics return policy shortly after. We always teased him that he was the one that ruined it for the rest of up. LOL

Yeah, there is a vodka "incident" from my teen years that does not allow me to drink vodka anymore. LOL

You don’t drink anymore because of this incident?! And because it’s Friday?! I don’t drink anymore because I don’t want to drink anymore, but I like your excuse. “Nah, I don’t drink, this guy in Tacoma world had his seat melted…”

also. Bought a pair of converse at Costco, returned them cuz the size was wrong (didn’t have my feet with me). Realized it wasn’t on the receipt, tried to return them and pay for a new pair, they said no and let me exchange them for a new pair while never paying.

That’s the more expensive Kirkland vodka. I always buy the $12.99 one—it’s great, but it certainly wouldn’t taste good after that.

Not positive but it looks like the seat back cap be purchased separately. Looked like the P/N was 7107304841C5. You'd have to verify it with a parts person. Price just north of $300.

This is a great (but unfortunate) story, worthy of telling your salesman or the GM, and asking if they'd goodwill you a replacement, but without markup (if possible).

    Good luck.

    LS1 swap with nitros.
Buy the oem seat cover... get a set of hog ring pliers and with a few hours and basic hand tools you can remove the burned cover and replace with a factory new cover. Good as new and can do it yourself and enjoy the bottle at the same time.

I have a complete set of take offs for my ‘16 that I bought on eBay shortly after buying new that I maybe paid $100-150 for. Cheap insurance.

I can feel your pain as this happened to me as well. My wife was getting ready one morning and she used a mirror at our dining room table. She left the mirror on the table and the sun reflected off the mirror. It aimed it at one of our MCM chairs and burned a hole right through the fabric as well as the foam itself. That chair, we purchased in Ashland, OR. and drove it all the way home in Socal. It was a custom reclaimed vintage piece with a reupholstered southwestern aztec fabric. I suppose we're grateful it didn't catch I fire but I'm reminded of it each and every time I see it. We keep a throw over it now to lessen the blow.

Here are my options in the order of cheapest to you.

1.) You can buy a set of OEM take of covers from someone who upgraded to leather. They're about 150-$250 in price.

2.) Upgrade to new seat covered from Wet Okoles.

3.) Upgrade to a leather kit.

Best of luck to you and dang, such a new Tacoma too but you'll get over it as long as you fix it. The longer you leave it as is, it's a constant reminder you don't need.

^ Shouldn't take a few hours to just do one panel on the passenger seat.

Reminds me of the time my parents had a couple bottles of Clearly Canadian explode in their van on a hot day. There was glass embedded in the dash and head liner, the van was practically new as well.

Curious- how long were you parked with the bottle on the seat like that, or did it happen while driving? Four sunspots and no tracks between them? Weird

You didn’t happen to have the passenger side seat heater on by chance, did you?
