Burnt passenger seat on 1st day..

Wow, that's excessive, but for sure if they were sitting there for that long, I'd say replace seat cover now, and then put an aftermarket one on top.

 

Happened as i was driving home from costco on I25 just north of denver....there are a couple ups and downs and big bends on the road....its not straight and flat at all..... Must have just hit right....there was more than one vodka bottle so it was probably working off both of them which would explain the gap between the clusters

I had to Google "Clearly Canadian", because my initial thoughts were that some bottles of Canadian Club exploded, and I could just imagine driving around with a vehicle smelling like whisky. It would make getting pulled-over very interesting.

FWIW, I did have two cans of unflavored seltzer pop their tops in my truck on a very hot day... No "spill", but it was amazing to see the cans flip their lids.

If I remember correctly there was a concave shaped hotel in Vegas that caused a "death ray" effect and melted some pool furniture at a nearby hotel.

I'd try to find an oem seat cover. Otherwise, rough country neoprene seat covers for a couple hundred. Katzkin's are nice but expensive.

 

FWIW: Arthur C. Clarke wrote a sci-fi short story "A Slight Case of Sunstroke" where spectators at a soccer match are all instructed to aim some form of mirror or reflective material at a political opponent to eliminate him.

 

One reason why I never leave anything on the seats. Mostly just to keep prying eyes and potential thieves from breaking the windows. Just have to be proactive. You're lucky you didn't burn your truck to the ground.

 

That's crazy, I never hear this before, hopefully you get them fix or unless cover, let us know what you chose to do.

There's a window in the front of our house that will catch the sun and do the same thing if I happen to be standing in the right spot.

 

Some of you guys have never held a magnifying glass and got the perfect pinpoint of sun light, you know the one you toast ants with, and put your hand under it....instant pain!

 

Didn't do that, but started my share of controlled combustion events. Then there is steel wool and 9 volt batteries, matches and the internals of Estes rocket motors.
