Sadly there was a mix up with my families insurance and my car didnt have comprehensive. Add since they somehow did nto find the cause of the fire it was not covered under HOI. I was still able to get the max amount from my company, but that is going to towards replacing all my skis and bikes for racing, and there isnt enough left over to buy a truck sadly.

The entire other side of the car is clean. no melting, paint damage, doors and windows work. Where do you think i could look to sell this for parts of salvage.

I am looking at a very similar truck in Chico california. Its grey and two years newer but I am stubborn and want another manual TRD Off Road with an Access cab.

Cause of the fire was unknown.

The truck probably needs all new curtain and side airbags. That alone is serious coin. Add a 3-4k paint job, plus new seats and other shit, will be cheaper for the OP to just buy a used truck.

I'm not an insurance expert, but I have looked into the HOI thing as far as vehicles and ATVs on the property. The only way they're covered under the HOI is if they're used to maintain the property. Tractor, riding lawn mower, etc. Comprehensive insurance is CHEAP. I have vehicles that I'm not driving that have comp only on them. The cool thing about that also, is that whenever you decide to drive the vehicle, all you have to do is give the insurance company a call and tell them to add full coverage onto it. Even if you call at midnight on Friday night, it's time stamped on the answering machine and you're covered.

As far as fixing that truck, no way. Besides all the heat related problems, the stuff the fire department adds to the water is HIGHLY corrosive.

Sell the drivetrain, and other ancillary parts (airbags, etc.) You'll never get the smoke smell out, which is fine, if you're trying to attract lumberjacks, but apart from that, everywhere you go, people will think you just got home from camping.
I don't have collision, but always get comprehensive. Again, sorry to hear about the loss, it just plain sucks.

    Sucks about the truck.

That stated, you had time to take a picture of the fire rather than grab keys and get the truck out of there? Like you stated driver side was away from the fire and relatively unscathed, Id of hopped in that shit and moved it as quick as i could then put out the fire if there was any on the passenger side, might of been able to save the truck, cus at this point its done dont even bother with it.

I would have definitely done this. But I was not at home I was on the completely another side of the state. My roommate moved his car and by the time he got back 1 minute later, the fire department would not let him get to my car and move it.

Take it to a dealership for the frame recall and see if they notice. Then blame it on them. :anonymous:

I wouldn't even think to "part out" a truck burnt that bad. Asking for a lawsuit against you.

I would, however, try and get some consolation from either vehicle or home owner's insurance. Then take that check and build me a badass rig out of what you've already got.
Secure financing and get a vehicle to daily. :lalala: to the haters on financing a vehicle. Sure, I can't save up $30k and buy a truck outright, get over it. Gimme $10.
