I need to replace my lower control arm bushings and I can't seem to find assembled OEM control arms anywhere. So, I bought the bushings individually, but my ball joint press doesn't seat well enough on the control arm to press them out. I'm not opposed to using the bottle jack method, but am wondering if anyone knows of a specific press that works well to press the old bushings out and the new bushings in. Many thanks!

No experience with doing them on my Tacoma, but I helped with a friends Chevy 2500 and the only thing that works was to pull the control arm off the truck and use a hydraulic press from HF (so basically your bottle jack method).

get some 1/2" threaded rod, 2 oversize washers and 2 nuts. You have yourself a cheap bushing press. Make sure you lube the bushings good.

I recently rebuilt the rear suspension in my Mustang and had to replace almost 20 bushings. The HF press was a huge help and made things so much easier. For larger parts (IRS subframe) and smaller ones I couldn't use the press for I made a tool like above mentions. Worked well too but not as easy as the press.

Double check the size but they make premade tools that will probably work for you. https://www.maximummotorsports.com/IRS-Subframe-Bushing-Removal-Tool-1999-04-Cobra-P496.aspx
