I have a 2015 DCSB 4X4. Im running 35 x 12.50 Super Swampers. Over the past three years, my paint has taken a beating from the front all the way to the rear. i have paint chips the size of tic tacs (some even bigger). Some of these paint chips are starting to show rust bleed through. This truck is far from being a pavement princess. I live on a gravel road, i play in the mud a good bit; and during hunting season it stays muddy and it is constantly driven down gravel roads all season.
Im getting ready to paint the entire truck to fix all these flaws in the paint since i almost have it paid off. what im worried about is the fact that i will inevitably trash the new paint. I have looked into the clear vinyl wrap to install along the bottom of the side panels, but it took no time at all for rocks to penetrate the existing vinyl that came on the truck from the factory.
Do any of you guys have bushwacker pocket style fenders installed? Do they prevent rock chips?

You'll need either bigger flares or wider fenders, if the tires stick out past the stock fenders/flares then this is what's bound to happen (rock chips in the paint).

I'm in the process of getting ready to order some Bushwhacker fender flares for my 04 for the same reason, I removed the beat up stock flares and now my tires stick out about 2" and are flinging all kinds of stuff at the paint.

Im looking for someone with a 2nd gen with 12.50" wide tires to tell me "Yes, the bushwackers will prevent rock chips so just get them installed when you get your truck painted and everything will be ok"
