Yes, thats the same plate. As for the coating? Not sure, whose pic was it. Looks like a textured floor/ stone spray can.

That's mine. I used the rustoleum textured metallic you can get it from Home Depot.
I used it on my fender wells, frame, and head lights too

Are the lack of holes for the bolts intentional?

Hoping you guys are willing to help out a fellow taco owner... i made my own plate before seeing this thread. Wish i woulda just bought one cuz theyre not that easy to make! I tried plexiglass but that just cracked on me every time i tried to drill a hole, so i went back to metal.

What is the exact bolts i need to thread into the side of the truck? I read on another post that it was a 8mm 1.25x25mm but that definitely does not work...

    M8 x1.25

There's rust, grit and paint in there. Spray it out and use a 13mm socket to get it in there. I throw the socket on my small impact and then back the bolts out and in a couple times.

    Unless you have a first gen. Then it's a M6 x 1.0 I believe

Awesome thanks. thought i was beginning to cross thread but perhaps not cuz i have the right size bolt.... now i just need an impact instead of my arm tweaking standard drill.

LOL- yeah, anyone looking to buy a drill for anything?, I recommend getting one of the little impact drivers. Guarntee you will never look back. Lighter, and more power normally.

If you're talking about the 12v Dewalt compact impact... they're incredible.
