Only reason i'm Not Drivin' a Third Gen. is good lighting. Glad you're all good but if you got deer, think gettin' good lighting, it will save you changin' license plates.

So if I added off road bumpers. Aftermarket suspension, etc, I can’t get it back??

You can take them off before they value the truck and get a lower payout, but not after they price it. If you remove suspension, wheel, etc, you will most likely also need to install the original equipment back, as they will most likely not want to deal with a truck that is pain in the rear to move around.

You caused that buck to shed its antlers. That's the biggest balls I've ever seen on a doe. :p

My dog came home with a deer leg once. I wonder if that’s how he got it?

Smart driving not trying to avoid the deer. I lost a friend and his wife years ago. He was driving a 65 Plymouth Belvedere 426 Show car. Trying not to hit the deer he went head on into a truck ,killing him and his wife. I always tell my wife and children if a deer runs out just hold your line. Nothing else you can really do.

That hood looks in pretty good condition and looks like it’s the right black I need, j/k.

glad to hear no more than a bruise. Good luck with the 2021 search!

OP, glad you are ok. Damn you did a number on that deer.

Would be interesting to see the same hit on a steel bumper. What if any damage done to truck.

Ha I was thinking the same thing. Can only imagine the demand on a take off undamaged scooped hood around these parts

Thanks, I’ve seen a couple stories over the years of people swerving, hitting a tree and getting killed. Also if you swerve and wreck it’s a ding on your insurance, hitting a deer is not (at least not mine) But honestly there was very little reaction time. The hard part was getting the truck slowed down with the airbags in my face and shock of the whole experience. Also I’m glad it was totaled, I don’t think I’d want it fixed with all the airbags, the seat, and also the seat belt tensioner was messed up. Lots of in cab damage.

I believe you slowing down after air bag goes off must have been a blast.
I hit hit one with cruise control on 70 mph years ago in a 1500 Chevy. It was more disgusting than anything. The bumper cut into it. Clean up was like Good Fellas.

In Vermont, I think it's generally acceptable for the vehicle owner to take the deer. Just a matter of getting approval from a game warden. Might as well eat whatever parts that are good. :D
