    Noticed this today.
    2017 DCSB

    Are those connectors/wires broken?
This is right in front of the battery.
I have no cel or any warning, anyone know what this is for and if it is supposed to look like this ?

I'm thinking its supposed to be like that. The incoming wire/plug is just one wire too.

IIRC this question has been asked here in the past and it’s normal.

The connector goes to the Starter, unplug it and the truck will not start. The rest of the wires are a grounding splice; the wires will all be White with a Black tracer. Your 2017 is configured slightly differently than my 2021 - that splice is located separately and not in that wire bundle on my truck.

If the wire colors match you have your answer.

I have one question: What is all the gunk?

You're good, there's nothing wrong. It comes like this from the factory.

Yup, got the truck sprayed. Let't just say that they went a little overboard.....
