My Grandfather and I used to dredge some spots up here back in the 80s and 90s, illegal to do now though. Still have some of the old gear for it though.

Have been thinking about getting into some detecting. I need to invest into a decent rig though, don't have anything atm. Unfortunately busy next weekend, actually most of this month.

Have had to take it easy, doctor removed all my restrictions as to driving and physical activity. Had a subduro hematoma back in mid August. In the hospital and rehab facility for three weeks. Got released the Friday after Labor Day, doctor cleared me last Tuesday after a visit to his office. Don't see how a little bumb on the forehead by my truck door caused the bleeding in my skull. Dont recall anything thing else that would have caused it. 40 staples in my head for two weeks or so.
Stock tires have over 21,000 miles, not legal for snow conditions here due to having less than half the tread. Last Spring I found a set of dealer take offs a private party had, had to drive down to Sacramento to get them. No tpms on them, cheaper than buying all from a tire dealer by $400. Will install them later in the season. When the originals are worn out, will get a set of more aggressive tires.

I'm currently in chico attending the university and would love to check out some of the spots up in Lassen. Don't know of to many to go exploring since i feel most of them are closed logging roads

Go to the Forestry department and get a forest map. Has all the main roads. Google maps will show you some of the logging roads. Cool thing is most roads are loops but there are a few dead ends.

Get a map from a District FS office that sells wood cutting permits, maybe they'll give you a map that is given to wood cutters, shows road numbers.

MVUM from the NF Service, which is free at ranger stations or can be download online.

Detail map of the NF which can be bought at the main ranger station or bought online via the link at the NFS website. The detail maps are huge, like 4' ×6' when unfolded, so not that easy to use in a car.

    Random exploring

These are a few of my favorite things

Let's run over humbug some weekend?!
Have other friends with other types of vehicles that would go also. Head to Almanor and back on the highway. It's a nice day trip.

Yeah it's drivable still. I had to go that way to work on Monday. There was a truck wreck on 70 so I went over the top and out at Prattville. Kinda peaceful drive in the dark at 2:30 in the morning.

Snow was what I was thinking, but not too deep I'd guess. Could see snow on Spanish Peak, Bucks Lake Wilderness this AM when I took my pup for a walk.

Thank God we finally got some snow to deal with. We had flurries here in Paradise a few times too. We finally have a start to our export water storage.

I was going to camp with some of the stovie folks in Livermore last weekend but stayed home, shoveling snow, not having to drive in bad weather. Didn't think much of having to drive with traffic and thru the cities.
